THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

i love this comment from Pat :

"I'm going to play, improve and score goals. Sooner or later, it's going to go in.

ah, the old law of averages argument . "i'll win the lottery if i just keep playing..."

we signed the french african Andy Carroll - Le Pikey ?

Granted, sooner or later it will go in... And he'll have scored one goal. We'll then have to wait another 12-16 games for the next one.

Le Grand Muppet breaks his silence on Welbeck. Seems he was only signed as Ivan packed Arsene off to Rome and it wouldn't have happened had he been in London. The 2 1/2 hour flight with mobile phone turned off has bought us a much needed striker, but watch the Muppet bench him and persist with Sanogo as DW isn't 'his' signing. Welbeck must be brimming with confidence after such a vote of approval

It really does beggar belief doesn't it.

Why on earth does he need to come out with a public staement like that!? - Nothing like making a new signing feel welcome is there!
However the positives are - besides the fact we do actually have a new and decent striker, instead of the calamitous giraffe called sonogoals - and If this is true then it means Wenger may not have the iron grip on the throat of Arsenal's future that he has had (unchallenged) for so long...which surely is a Good Thing.... still only another 3 years before we're rid of the inept despot.

ps: Unless of course Gazidis & Co fucked up and bought Welbeck instead of doing a loan deal....and Wenger now thinks he is justified to make hat public - What ever happened to his previous policy of whay goes on internally stays internal.

Don't pay too much attention to that as Welbeck will want to prove just how good a player he is on his debut.
