Soucek getting pinged every time for two hands on the back. Clive Allen on commentary confirming it is a stonewall foul each time. Go figure why we had c unts lining up to tell us the Gabriel one v Newcastle was ok.

Holy shit Really! That's ridiculous!

It's the same thing when on a forum I said that Women's (Professional) Football was of a Very Low Standard and that most 15yr old boys teams would beat the (so called) best women's teams... and I had over 40 'replies' telling me I was a chauvinist, a misogynist etc etc ! I mean I was only speaking the truth.

This woke thing is a load of Bollocks. Pretty soon if not already no opinions will be allowed unless it comes from a disabled lesbian trans-gender non-white gay blind, deaf vegan... :banghead:
Well I respect Retro’s right to have an opinion, even if you do not

Sorry mate, could have picked anyone

Word of advice kids - if you are in Oireland the whole free streaming thing is going to be murdered next year. I've a colleague that is on secondment to a government think tank project that is working on using copyright law to shut down free streaming as the corrupt bastard government don't get a penny from it.

It's always difficult and dangerous to judge a country when you're an outsider who's only occasionally looking in, but it has seemed for a while that the Irish govt is going down the big state, woke authoritarian route. Rushing through repressive laws following last week's awful event and the subsequent riots and this plan to shut down streaming are red flags. You're not quite Canada yet, but that tosser Varadker will get you there given his way.

As I said, not really fair to judge a country when you're not living in it, but it's the impression I get. There's enough of the green, white and gold on here to tell me if I've got it wrong.

I'm not political at all but I will stand up for the government at their backlash to those riots - those scumbags that rioted are (for the most part) free loaders who never worked a day in their lives and contribute fcuk all to society and yet have the cheek to complain about foreigners coming into our country on social welfare ?? The jokes doing the rounds over here the day after the riots was that "the riot is paused for 3 hours to allow people to collect their dole" and also "jd sports store was looted and all the runners were robbed but the work boots were left behind"
Whilst the rioting scumbags cleaned out Footlocker, Easons (a bookstore) was left untouched.

The irony is that sometime in the last 20 years or so our government started a policy of moving some of those free loading sponger families down from Dublin and into rural counties, and the decent culchies were having a meltdown over it  Now forward on 20 years and our economy is so good that we are now importing scumbags into Dublin to replace the ones that were moved down to rural Ireland all those years ago
Another irony is that these rioters would lead you to believe that Dublin was a fine place before all these foreigners landed - it wasnt. There are parts of Dublin (and all cities) that are run by drug gangs and scumbags and always have been - if the locals want to clean up the streets then why dont they start with their own local scumbags ? There are genuine honest and hardworking people who have every right to be concerned at some of the people allowed into our country, but they have no hope of having a reasonable discussion or plan put in place now that the racist right wing crowd have taken over. There is now talk about how these refugees are getting all these state handouts and not contributing to society at all, but there are thousands of Irish who havent worked a day in their lives and are a drain on our country. The problem isnt the amount of foreigners coming in - the problem is that we have a handout society now that entices people in, and no politician will have the balls to oppose it cos it will kill their career and they will never get elected again
Pretty much correct there augie. Only thing you got slightly wrong is the per capita is higher down the country with culchies on the dole outnumbering Dubliners on the dole. Yes, there is less infrastructure and jobs down the country to a certain extent but not enough for the huge discrepancy. Culchies are basically lazy people mostly.

As I said, I'm reticent to comment too heavily on the political/social goings on in Ireland, but what I would say Augie is that I'm sure you have enough laws on the legislature to deal with rioters and trouble makers in general, without the govt introducing new hate speech/incitement laws.

The only reason they'll want to do that is to quell dissent and criticism of their fucked up policies....and that goes for all govts, not just Ireland's. There's a move amongst western govts to come down hard on criticism of mass immigration and it's repercussions and the overreach of unnecessary new laws introduced to quieten people will not be limited to morons that riot and loot. They'll be used to control you, me and all of us. They don't need new laws, they're being brought in to increase state control and reduce our freedoms. That way lies an Orwellian dystopia.

The Brits are too supine and easily manipulated and if I'm honest, I wasn't sorry to see the Irish with some Celtic fire in their bellies, deciding to send a message, although that's easy for me to say from over here. I believe the fate of the poor little girl is still being closely guarded from the public. Bang out of order in my book.

Anyway, apologies for the political rant.

Retro, there isnt a government or country in the world that has legislation that can stop hate speech - by far my biggest gripe re social media is that people can say what they like whether it be truth or not, and it will be taken as gospel and spread like wildfire via the internet, and yes it can be taken down after that but by then the harm is done. There was a case in the courts over here this summer where a once reputable journo was spreading anti covid vaccine bullshit and used the photo of a young person who had committed suicide and was telling her followers that it was the covid vaccine that killed the young person - the poor mother of the youngster that committed suicide had pleaded with the journo to stop spreading lies about her childs suicide and ended up going to court to get it stopped and to put a stop to the threats she was receiving from the journo and her cult (c.unt) followers. How do you stop that ?? :cussing: :cussing:

Secondly, of all the nations in the world, Ireland should be the one who should least have an open mind about migration - for centuries we have exported our people to all corners of the world, so it is hypocritical to think we can shut the door on foreigners coming here for a better life  Of course the argument is that the Irish had to work wherever they went because there was no social welfare support system for them, but that backs up my argument that it is the system and not the people that are wrong. What also was ignored by the right wing bastards, is that it was a brazilian guy that saved the 5 year child - in a mad twist, someone started a "Go Fund Me" appeal for people to donate a fiver to buy the brazilian a pint as a thank you, and as of yesterday they had received donations to the tune of €365,000+

Another bizzare spin off from those riots was that over here we had an mma scumbag spouting anti foreigner rhetoric and claiming that we need to be vetting them coming into our country - a fine sentiment indeed if it wasnt coming from someone with 18 previous convictions himself, not to mention a number of other incidents that he was investigated over (inc a few of sexual assault)
