Disappointed with this. Saw Hutchinson for Arsenal U21s v Chelsea U21s in Papa Johns Trophy and he was outstanding. Also having made the bench towards end of season had hoped he would be playing League Cup and Europa League this season. Which makes the move to Chelsea puzzling, unless he was offered a big bag of cash.
Hes a Kia player , was offered big money apparently, has Saka and Gabi ahead of him but always hate seeing youngsters going to rivals.
Kia player?
I assume it’s Kia Joorabchian who is an agent.

Can only be a move for money - he has looked very impressive in the clips of games I’ve watched.
He has gone to their under 23 team, so no big move forward in terms of playing time, he would have been more likely to get the odd game here or there in Europa or league cup with us.

Sorry to see him go , but fuck him if he didn’t want to stay.

We also have Flores, a Mexican international in the youth ranks who looks just as good, so it opens up his pathway instead.

Why Stuart ? We already have saka, smith-rowe and martinelli ahead of him and I think it is fair to say that the vast majority of Gooners hope to see those 3 in AFC line up for years to come. Add to that our legohead manager has bought jesus and vieira and got the feather to sign a new contract, PLUS he tried and failed to sign raphina from leeds. These are all players that play in his position, so where is the encouragement for him to stay ? I'm not suggesting that he is automatically entitled to anything, but I am saying is that he is at an age where he needs to be making a breakthrough to senior football, and it didnt look imminent for him at AFC

And at Chelsea he will ?
Chelsea also tried to sign Raphina
He is not in their first team squad - he has gone to their under 23’s.

He is not yet ready for first team football another year or two learning his trade - fair enough if he wants game time.

We have probably the youngest front line in the league regardless of who starts, so the point I am making is that unless he is exceptional I didnt see him getting much game time with us - I continually question why we sign the likes of vieira and why we tried to sign raphina when we already have too many players for those positions, and this is a knock on effect imo.
I also agree that signing for the chavs makes fcuk all sense (albeit that they are nowhere near as good up front as us imo), but I look at it from the kids point of view and think that he see's a manager only interested in bringing in his own players regardless of the talent already within the club, so maybe they put on a better sales push and made him feel more wanted ? They got shot of their fat striker and are doing their best to flog the useless werner but no-one wants him, so there is a possibility of places opening up there for him

I would prefer to have an 18 year old at Arsenal with the potential he has competing. There may be others in his position, but they could get injured or sold. And Hutchinson may turn out to be far better than any of them. Looking back it is akin to selling Gnabry because we had Walcott and The Ox…

… and he has to be better than Pepe.

Grind's my shyte when I see the likes of Bellerin the ballerina still within our ranks and yet youngsters with real potential being let go to the likes of the Chavs, have we learnt nothing after allowing Gnabry's to go to Bayern?

Have our academy got a watching brief to only produce wingers and forwards or something? Other than Ballard i'm struggling to think of any other defensive/DM players looking to move up and he has been sold

Norton-Coffey is highly rated as a full back and had a successful loan spell at Lincoln last season, he is just 18

But that is a huge gulf in playing against internationals and premier league stars, so expect another season out on loan, maybe in the championship to see if he maintains his progression.

Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, here we go! Full agreement in place since Friday with Man City for £30m guaranteed fee, personal terms also agreed. Zinchenko, always been keen on re-joining Arteta.

Arsenal hoping that Zinchenko will be able to play a part in the US tour, if all goes smoothly. Agreement now reached with City and player, as reported by @David_Ornstein.

£30m. Medical imminent, possibly in the States as he is there with City. Logistics being finalised now.
Contract until June 2026, as per @David_Ornstein - medical this week.

United paying £57m for Martinez  :?
Thank fuck we said no to that, Ajax have pulled their pants down on that deal. United are desperate! Hope we can get Zinchenko for 30m now
Yep he isn't worth more than £45m, rather go for Zinchenko at 30-35.

As for Tierney I'd cash in if we can get an offer over £25m, he's a good player but his injury record is only going to get worse as he ages.

Other teams strengthening now has cancelled out our good work, still think we'll be lucky to finish higher than 5th this season unless we get some more quality in, if Partey goes down we are totally fvcked.
You dont think that there s a slight contradiction there ? You want to sell our best left back and replace him with average, and then complain that we are falling behind cos other teams are strengthening ?
He might be a very good LB but he's injured like 50% of the time so his abilities become almost irrelevant. Fed up with sicknote players, we've had enough of this nonsense for the last 20 years.

these are all better than Pepe.

Can’t understand why Ballard was sold. As good as Holding with more potential.
