SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign
Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
How I've missed ridiculous outrage at total non-stories.
He said he's happy at Arsenal but wants to win things in the future, that means WITH ARSENAL. Look at the questions he's asked, they're so leading you can twist what he says any way. Plus the same people shouting at him are the same people shouting at Wenger to buy.
Anyway Higuain seems to be wanting to come. A lot of new quotes about him now set on Arsenal. Certainly would be a lovely signing

Herd had made a thread about Koscielny, but I stand by it being a non-story.
He wants us to sign good players and challenge for titles.
He is ambitious.
Good!
Brilliant, whoopdefukindooo he's ambitious, so are most of the dross that parade about as would be superstars on Britains got talent but it don't MEAN their World Class or even talented.
One word "delusional"

Lets be honest DB thinks he's a talented Author but his first novel is being recommended on the "10 ways to kill yourself" suicide site

Like it, one minute it's all bollox in the news about Kos but all true about Higuain wanting to come to usrigsby wrote:How I've missed ridiculous outrage at total non-stories.

Good old lyrics by The Specials "It's ALL a load of bollox"

But that doesn't mean posters can't have a view or express their outrage IF it were true, too many posters on here dismiss one load of shite in the news but then hold another lot up as gospel

So he didn't say that he would have to look elsewhere if we are not winning trophies ? I would love him to just say that he would love to win medals at AFC but the fact is that he very much stated that he would be willing to go elsewhere if he is not winning medals here - don't think he has done enough for our club to earn the rights to question anybody else

And what have you or I done for the club to be allowed to question them?
OK, we have given our cash, but Koscielny is justified in questioning the ambition of the club, from the owner down.
It is what Van Persie did and it is what we do on this Forum day in day out.
For good reason.

Bit of a difference there Quartz, Van Skunk was/is World Class (I would say in the top 3 strikers in the World) but Kos ain't world class and from what I've seen never will be.QuartzGooner wrote:Augie (And to Leftfootlegend)augie wrote:

Now had we had Kompany playing for us and then saying this I would agree with you.

Shouldn't all the bitching about Kos take place in the thread dedicated to it all?
Everytime I see a new post on this thread I think it's a fucking rumour

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
So Lewandowski has agreed terms with his 'dream club' which is probably not Arsenal.
Higuain is probably off to Juve - bear in mind they just won their respective league and have Llorente coming in already.
Nero fiddles while Arsenal burns to the ground....but wait - Giroud has better stats than Drogba and Henry in their first year and next year will show everyone....
Sorry for the negative post - but I feel that we have seen this summer before many times......

My whole point was it matters not a jot how good the player is, or if indeed one is an Arsenal player, but if one is going to call into question the club's lack of buying enough quality players of late then it is fully justified considering the extravagant prices the fans pay.

Arsene Wenger admits he made a 'huge mistake' not signing Gareth Bale
Wenger was tracking the Tottenham winger back when he was a young left-back at Southampton, alongside future Arsenal star Theo Walcott.
But while Walcott made the move Arsenal, Bale, now 23, headed to north-London rivals Tottenham, where he is now proving to be one of the best players in the country.
"We didn't take him as we had Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy and didn't want another left-back," Wenger told Al Jazeera Sport.
"I must confess it was a huge mistake as he can play in midfield. He struggled at the start at Tottenham, then they moved him to midfield and he has done exceptionally well.
"The career of a player sometimes depends on playing in the right position."
Bale, who has been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid this summer, was crowned double Footballer of the Year last season after impressing for Andre Villas-Boas' side.
And Wenger thinks his "power, pace and direct play" will help the Welshman become one of the top five players in the world.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
We will sign no big names , he will use the usual excuses , no one good enough , too many teams in the market .
Wenger discussing Rooney is him taking the piss , all he is doing is stirring it up , like hell would we pay £250,000 pw , we didnt offer RVP anything like that , all bull .

Ummmmm, because the main argument on here is not what was said (a cheese plant can see it's lack of investment blah blah blah) but who said it and you know that mate so don't see why you've posted that but heyho.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
I think the difference is that you or I can do fuck all about Arsenal's plight, whereas Koscielny's general performance levels throughout his AFC career have been symptomatic of why we haven't been winning trophies - impressive in patches but clearly not up to scratch for a vast chunk. It doesn't really help his case that the last trophy we came close to winning was thrown away by a mistake from him.QuartzGooner wrote:Augie (And to Leftfootlegend)augie wrote:

Also, wrongly or rightly it does grind when a player who has prospered so much from our lack of ambition (no other club of our size would have signed him or subsequently stood by him through poor performances) then complains about it.
