ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I still think Teilimans will arrive before deadline day. The squad is ahaping up pretty good, but when it was under Wenger, Wenger wouldn't go that extra step to give us an edge
If Arteta is serious about winning, which he is. make sure of it, Yes Xhaka form pre season has been excelling and there is the chance we get the swiss national team Xhaka which will be welcomed. But truth is Xhaka, even playing as well as he is, is still the weakest link in the first team. Sign Teilimans for competition, an alternative, and depth.
I really do think we can finish 3rd and be within a reasonable distance of Man City and Liverpool this year. I think 80 points is achievable

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
So we go into the season with probably the strongest starting eleven in over a decade. With Saliba and Jesus in the team our spine is soo much stronger. I hope that translates into us not getting bullied away on Friday, it's a massive test and pre season friendlies mean nothing.
Jesus, however, is showing form/ability that I didn't think he had in him. Pleasantly surprised and I hope that City will be regretting letting him go over the next few weeks.
Zinchenko is mustard, we got a proper player there at a decent price. And with the inevitable injuries that will come having a player that can slot into multiple positions and perform at a decent standard is priceless. I want to see him in midfield rather than LB where he can hurt opposing teams. He's a very intelligent player.

We have Leicester at home 2nd game of the season ….maybe it’s got something to do with that ?wilson2.0 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:06 amI still think Teilimans will arrive before deadline day. Leicester might not want him to play against them ?
Plus if we have agreed terms with Tielemans then we can play the waiting game for them to get the price down.
£20m will probably be enough to seal the deal, given that he leaves for nothing next season and Leicester apparently need to comply with FFP

Yup! Even when we romped to an easy(ish) victory yesterday Clive was still the one slowing down attacks and passing the ball either sideways or back when he had an opportunity to go forward to a team matewilson2.0 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:06 amI still think Teilimans will arrive before deadline day. Tielemans or Paqueta both more Xhaka replacements than Partey who is currently the more dangerous to lose. If he gets injured or carted off somewhere we have only Lokonga that can step in to that position . We need back up forPartey before we bring in either of the other two.

I read something in one of the papers yesterday about exactly that. Apparently, Boring Brenda hasn't got any players in this summer because he can't spend anything until they shift some and get some money in. As you say, all to do with FFP or whatever but I wonder if there's something a bit deeper going on there. Hopefully, that fucking club is on the rocks and ends up back in the third tier where they should be without the conveniently forgotten about Thai billions that they've received over recent years.StuartL wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 8:57 amWe have Leicester at home 2nd game of the season ….maybe it’s got something to do with that ?wilson2.0 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:06 amI still think Teilimans will arrive before deadline day. Folarin Balogun expected to join Stade de Reims on loan for 2022-23 season, as reported by @FabrizioRomano.
Reims finished 12th in Ligue 1 last season. Good opportunity for Balogun to gain 1st team experience. No purchase clause.

Leno will do a year year there, pocket a lovely bit of money and then move on once they've been relegated again and head back to Germany. Fair play to the bloke.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 10:33 amBernd Leno will undergo medical tests and sign as new Fulham goalkeeper this week, personal terms are also agreed.
