The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

While we may not be ecstatic about this potential signing, I wonder what we would be writing if the Scum snapped him up for 20 mil.

i'd hate to see a nasty *word censored* like that in a scum shirt, rather he's in ours.

he's not the sort to get intimidated at stoke or tottenham. that's what we need :barscarf:

Had time to think about this...not the worst signing, although a bit underwhelming for a club with supposed ambitions in the league and Europe. He could work well on the end of Ozil assists and Sanchez to support. It's been a while since we've had a pacey striker who's got the hunger and desire to score and is not a complete donkey (Giroud, Walcott)

Where's this Vidic Mk II we need?

Personally I think this is the least of Lineker's worries, his focus should be on the pants he's gonna wear on MOTD next season or how he's gonna get out of it.
I can't stand that jug-eared twat. Fucking rent-a-quote arsehole.

Just a thought i had, dangerous i know but i have a feeling this early foray into the transfer market may be a direct result of Armchair, NickF and everyone else's protests at the matches and it has scared the crap out of the club so whether the transfers work out or not kudos to the protesters for making the muppets running the club sit up and take notice finally.

Also nice to see our 'classy' fans giving Vardy's missus crap on twitter really shows us in a good light to a potential signing, when will these people learn that twitter etc is seen by everyone including other players and it doesn't look good :banghead:

On the Vardy signing if it happens Wenger surely has to offload someone from our multitude of forward players as we are really bloated now, please let it be Theo :rubchin:

This signing signals that Wenger is on his last year and is going all out to win the title before going out on a high.

Vards is great. Like a white Ian Wright. Plenty of heart, pace, aggression and balls. He'll be a Real fan favorite at the bowl.

One thing I never understood, was playing a short passing game with a target man upfront. Finally, a player to run the channels, and play of the last mans shoulder.

One htings for sure, Walcott will need to go.

Ohh god Giroud has just publicly said JV wants to join Arsenal. He will look a twat if it doesn't happen.

I just wish some of these players would shut the fuck up when asked questions by the media.

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Jamie Vardy after triggering his release clause, it is widely believed that Vardy himself would have preferred a move to the red half of North London but Arsene Wenger didn't follow up on earlier interest..Wenger,speaking in France where he was opening a new stadium named in his honour, told reporters thst he believed Vardy was a special talented player but added "we already have Giroud, Theo Walcott can play there also and we have Akpomb and Sanogo returning from loan"....Tottenham manager Pochittino moved quickly when he became aware of the release clause in Vardy's contract.. He was impressed with how well Vardy linked with Harry Kane in recent England friendlies..

After making up that story I want Arsenal to sign Vardy.

I think the shit she was getting on twatter was from the Leicester fans....she even addressed it in a tweet directly to LCFC fans saying she does not influence her husband's career decisions.

Not sure why Arsenal fans would be giving her grief on there apart from the few dick picks I've been sending her

Having earlier posted reservations about JV, in hindsight perhaps that was hasty. He is unproven at CL league level but he did pretty much win the league for Leicester and I guess if Jaime Vardi had done that for Napoli or someone then would be seen as a great signing. And though he's 29, he started pro football really late, so it's not as if he's at the end of his career legs-wise.

Bit of pace and aggression up front, he can finish well, so well, yes, I have changed my mind. £20m even for two seasons if he gets 40+ gpals is good business, especially if he changes the way we play a bit. Obviously he will do his ACL/ hamstring/ calf in September, but August might be ok.

And I am sure Hampstead Village life will suit him, that could do with a bit of shaking-up as well.

Can't wait for Arsenal v Leicester first league fixture of the season, bet no one would grizzle if he got us a dodgy pen!

Not sure where this diving animosity comes from tbh. We had Bobby Pires who conned the ref at home vs portsmouth in our Invicibles season. Like it or not strikers dive these day even the British ones. So he's a chav perhaps said some racist stuff in a casino all par for the course tbh with modern day footballers. Luis Suarez has said racist stuff in the past, but I think most gooners would have taken him in a heart beat a few seasons back.
