SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think Rooney is now overrated. He doesn't look in shape, he's first touch is getting worse, he doesn't press with any energy anymore, looks totally pissed-off most of the time, he's losing his pace and his attitude sucks.
If, on a couple of occasions, he's considered himself too good for Manure, why the hell would he want to come to us.
I agree that he'd be an upgrade on Giroud but there's better prospects out there.

In England only Citeh have made a big signing (34mil for a 28 year old who's amassed 5 caps for Brazil?), so let's get in there while the other clubs arse about and get a top striker.

I'd be happy to have Fellaini in the squad, but I don't think midfield is a priority and that the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Higuain. 40% of Spaniards say they are supporters of Madrid. I've yet to meet one who has spared a second worrying whether he's going or not. Decent, but not close to VanJudas' class.

I personally think Rooney is underrated by supporters but not by fellow pros hence Brazilian players calling him one of the best in the world.

He is without a doubt world class and would help our cause no end, but he wouldn't come to a club with such a losing mentality, he's a winner end of.

An over-weight, chain smoking, pint guzzling, granny shagging, over-hyped prick.

Could be talking about most posters on here to be fair. 8)

Not really surprised at this. However, Jovetic on radar, but not near top - that means that Wenger likes him, but not the price tag, so he will be buying up some Ligue 2 injury prone player on a free - - - what?

Oh....

Quite a brouhaha on Twitter last night over Fellaini, around 9.30pm, it seemed there was some big stories coming out today. It even had an old cynic like me expecting some earth shattering transfer news.
Would a club like ours really sanction some PR spin in the hope it causes a last minute panic to renew season tickets?
A staggering thought.

Same old bollocks from the club. Same old 'we have money to spend' shit. They know patience is wearing thin so they make up some nonsense about being able to compete with anyone financially and expect us to lap it all up and get excited. The problem , Gazidis, you stupid mug, is that nobody but the blind AKB brigade believe you or anyone else at the club anymore. If you have this money to spend then fucking spend it now on top quality players and keeping spending it for the next two months because we are that far behind because of you and Wenger. They know full well that they can throw names like Rooney around because they have zero % chance of getting him. It's a bit like me claiming that I definitely could beat Vladimir Klitschko in a fight or hit Dale Steyn for six sixes in an over in a cricket match because I'm never going to be near that situation and I'll never have to back it up with action.

It'll be the usual shit about being active and competitive but not being able to secure players and then some crap about how a one-legged 18 year old from Chad will be the next Zidane or Figo or Van Basten or Pele. When Wenger does his yearly 'I'm so clever and know more than anyone else in football' act by waiting and waiting, all the decent players will have been signed by other clubs and he'll be forced into more panic buys from Ligue 48 in France.

I'm going back to sleep until all this shit dies down and then I won't have the misery of waiting and hoping and nothing happening like the last ten years.

Paolo Ferreira has been released on a free from the Chavs. If Sagna does go and Jenks is considered up to 30+ games, Ferreira might be a decent bet.
I'm not aware of us being linked with any other RB and I'm worried that PSG or Monaco will nab Bacary at the last minute and leave us with the new Congolese RB sensation currently playing for Poitiers.

Dunno, would be happy with a bit of experience there but not somebody who's barely played for 2 years.

Paulo Ferreira is 34, he has started five league games in the the last two seasons and after we seeing Bosingwa (aged 30) play for QPR, I don't want any ex-Chelsea Portuguese right-backs.
