The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

How about Pepe Reina as reserve keeper? He seems to be at a loss right now.

He seems to be at a loss because he is a shadow of the decent keeper he used to be. I wouldn't have him.

Sky Italia: Inter Milan & Rubin Kazan have begun negotiations over the transfer of Yann M'Vila. Remember him

Wouldn't be a proper transfer thread if this guy wasn't mentioned.

A journalist called Kike Marin said on twitter that we've met Vela's buyout clause and Wenger wants to sign him. Real Sociedad president also said the same thing.

Well that's it. The striker we have been begging for wenger to buy is an ex player who was a flop in the PL. Three more years of hell awaits us.

Fucking hell. I'd like to think that this can't be true but then again, Wanker has signed a new deal, he's generally a *word censored* with transfers and with three years on his deal, what the fuck can anyone at the club do about it if they don't like it?

Dont write Vela off just yet, he flopped because he was young and played out wide when he was not up to it, he has done well in Spain and has to be deemed more worthy of a crack than Morata who has been linked, costs much more and has it all to prove as he has been pretty much a bench boy.

Fellaini?

Not for me.

He is a jack of all trades, could see him being quite effective at Newcastle or Aston Villa but simply not good enough for us.
Not mobile enough, not skilled enough, not consistent enough.
We have lots of central midfielders, if we buy another one he has to be better than what we have and I think Fellaini would be an improvement only on Arteta.

Felliani would add bite and an ariel presence but not much else.

I like the idea a lot......virtual rumours about virtual signings !

Here's one to start you off

TalkSteveO reports that Lionel Messi is about to rock Barcelona chiefs by agreeing to join Arsenal for £150m this Summer

Messi isn't coming

His only use as far as I can see if we signed him would be to forcibly place an arsenal shirt over Cesc's head in the next month or so, I seem to remember the slap headed c**t doing something similar a few years back

Atletico Madrid want Vela to replace Costa. Considering their incredible track record with strikers, that should be good enough for anyone.

Come the end of the transfer window we might have to make do with Claire Rayner

By taking Vela does it create a problem for Maureen and Roman. Sort of tit for tat with the Cesc situation.
