In for Mkhitaryan apparently, good player, always gave us trouble when we played him.

Mulling it over ? Maybe he feels he owes Leicester something ? (they will get £20m for his loyalty)OneBardGooner wrote:It looks like the deal is not done and dusted yet...

"Jamie Vardy is expected to decide whether he will join Arsenal from Leicester City before leaving for Euro 2016 with England on Monday.
The 29-year-old striker is set to tell the Gunners of his decision prior to flying to the national team's base for the tournament in Chantilly, France.
England depart from Luton airport at around 11:30 BST.
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Leicester and offered Vardy a four-year deal with a significantly higher wage.
Vardy is understood to still be mulling over whether he wants to leave the Foxes.
He arrived from then non-league side Fleetwood for £1m in 2012 and helped Leicester to the Premier League title last season, scoring 24 goals.
Vardy signed a new three-year contract in February and Leicester are reportedly in the process of countering Arsenal's offer with an improved deal of their own"
Only Arsenal could agree the fee, have the player do the medical but still not be sure of getting their man

Mulling it over? Mulling it fucking over? Is that how shit we are these days? A player from fucking Leicester mulling over whether to sign for Arsenal? The only thing you should be mulling over, mate, is whether to sign the contract in black or blue pen. Quite fucking frankly, you are nothing more than average and the 2016 version of Michael Ricketts. Go home, mull over how you've become the luckiest *word censored* in the world and then make the most of the next 12 months because in a year's time, you'll be back on loan at Fleetwood.StuartL wrote:Mulling it over ? Very harsh on Vardy there, pal. He made his own luck by banging in some 20 odd goals in leading his club to the title.
You'd be more justified directing your vitriol at a fair few fuckers who adorn our shirt. They are really the luckiest *word censored* on the planet.

As a Gooner I would be happy enough (not over the top happy) if we signed vardy, but I have to confess that as a footie fan I would be slightly disappointed
As an old timer I yearn for the days when money didn't rule the footie world to the extent that it does now, and because of that I really enjoyed the Leicester fairytale last season - I would liked to have seen that Leicester team stick together for one more season just to see how they would get on in Europe (they would be seeded in pot 1 ffs
) and to see if they continue to show the guts and lack of fear that they showed last season. We all know that if vardy goes, it is probable that kante and mahrez will follow him out the door asap and that will lead to an implosion of a reigning champions that we have never seen before - I don't want to see that and I don't think that Leicester deserve that, and I reckon that is why vardy might be willing to consider their counter offer before he leaves, and if he does then decide to stay with them then fair f.ucks to him

Oh, don't even get me going on that lot. 95% of out squad would be sold if I had my way. We'd start next season with Sancez, Ozil and Bellerin and that's it. The rest can all bugger off to Fleetwood too.

If we successfully sign him, I wonder if he will win as many penalties in an Arsenal shirt as many as he does in England and Leicester shirt?Bradywasking wrote:As a result of Rooney diving to end the run and endless dives by Stevie Me the media devised the phrase "felt contact and was entitled to go down" . I have the rosiest tinted spectacles when it comes to Bobby.OneBardGooner wrote:Just as Eduardo was by the celticscum - Why?northbank123 wrote:Nut Flush that sums up the media's anti-foreigner sentiment when it comes to diving though.
Pires was castigated his whole career for that dive. Vardy did it on an almost weekly basis last year and gets infinitely less stick. Rooney and Gerrard both more than happy to take a dive. Bale is a tremendous player but a cheating bastard - yet gets far less stick than Ronaldo did even though he frankly wasn't really any worse.
Because the players were seen as being 'Johnny Foreigners' a dispicable jingoistic term used by media and many fans alike to describe non-brit players and that's why there was and always will be a difference between cheating filth like rooney diving - like his did when he fell like a whores knickers when our Unbeaten run was ended by Red Nose, Shrek and the Other Manscum Cheating. cun.ts - and non-british players doing it....
Vardy does it - he plays for Ingerland so it's accepted and Not Criticised. Double Jingoism Standards by media and Fans alike.
He has no reason to sign for us other than the prestige of playing for Arsenal and getting a 4 year deal. He's won the Premier League already, he's and England international going to a tournament, and will play Champions League football next season. Unless he wants to win the FA Cup why leave a squad where he is settled?

Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
From Vardy's point of view who would you want to play for next season, Ranieri or Wenger both of whom have CL football available?
Also maybe, just maybe, he has a certain loyalty which is rare in modern footballers and therefore this isn't such a clear cut move for him, especially if the Foxes are able to match us in terms of wages

^^^^^^^ Spot on - why would you leave a league winning team? Nothing to gain from it and a lot to lose.Nos89 wrote:

Agreed - I think Wenger is quite hypocritical with approaches to Leicester. It is exactly the type of business he denounces. I think it would be pathetic for a bunch of big clubs to feed on Leicester like a pack of wolves.augie wrote:As a Gooner I would be happy enough (not over the top happy) if we signed vardy, but I have to confess that as a footie fan I would be slightly disappointedAs an old timer I yearn for the days when money didn't rule the footie world to the extent that it does now, and because of that I really enjoyed the Leicester fairytale last season - I would liked to have seen that Leicester team stick together for one more season just to see how they would get on in Europe (they would be seeded in pot 1 ffs

Agree with the above...as we all know Vardys game is all about effort , running, chasing lost causes, my worry would be when or IF he comes to Arsenal on around £100K + a week and with Wenger in charge that effort level will dip...then he would be just very averagePerryashburtongroves wrote:Mulling it over? Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Barcelona and Man City have had no issues in picking off our players over the last few years so why feel bad about taking 'and Leicesters'?
Now we're heavily linked with Mahrez as well, which I can't see Leicester agreeing to unless he has a clause in his contract as well. Personally I think both would be great signings for us but I can't help feeling it's not going to happen and it's just bullshit. BUT, if we did sign both I would be laughing so much at Wonga.......'we work 24/7 every day looking for top players'.......and they sign the best two players from the Champions, not exactly working hard is it and it's a leetle bit obvious?
I think Wonga knows next season is going to be tough, we keep saying it, but top 4 next season is going to be the hardest task yet and he knows that if he doesn't spend now then it could be no CL and a new contract........may be hard for him to sign in that situation and I think he's desperate to sign on a high!!
If we did sign both then I expect to see Wally, Gibbs sold at least to bring some money back in, maybe even the Ox too.
