THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can I just say that as a Gooner who would really love to see a fan protest, merging the proposed protest thread in here totally dilutes it's usefulness - there are over eight hundred pages on this thread so it's not gonna jump out and attract the attention of Gooners like a new thread does. I'm all for merging to keep the forum somewhat tidy, but on occasions it negates the thoughts, opinions and suggestions of the members and I believe that this is one such occasion :(

Glenn and Augie

With respect, I merged the threads.

In context, we have had anti-Wenger and anti-Board protest threads before and all that came out of them was a load of talk and a banner that got shown at some away games.

A new protest thread inevitably becomes an extension of this thread.

Go ahead and organise, if it comes to the point that an actual march or demonstration takes place then make a new thread to advertise it, I won't merge it, cannot speak for my colleagues.

I have asked the other Mods what they want to do, if others feel I or another Mod should "Unmerge" the thread then fair enough.

On a personal note I wanted Wenger gone summer 2011.

And you don't need to check on how you feel.
Just keep repeating that none of this is real.
And if you're sensing, that something's wrong,
Well just remember, that it won't be too long
Before the director cuts the scene. yea."

The only way is boycott the games.

Already there are so many empty seats.[att. based on "tickets sold" !]

Let them know your displeasure.

As Quartz says, we don't need any more Wenger threads. One 880+ page thread covers that. My suggestion is that we could host a protest thread if the only thing on it is protest related info and not the usual Wenger out / Wenger is God stuff that is repeated on the main Wenger thread. It would however be time consuming to mod it, unless we just delete any off-topic posts on that one thrread. I'm as loath as any of our old regulars to lose the "random" nature of the forum and threads, but we can't mod two 800 page Wenger-out threads, so deleting off-topic posts might be justified in this one instance. We are just waiting input / ideas from the rest of the mods and we'll let you know. We are also, of course, open to ideas / suggestions from all members.

Not in Libya, selectively in Syria, and in the UK nothing ,the choices in UK political parties are like South Park says it's either a shit sarnie or a giant douche bag !

If you don't like mass immigration your a racist
If you support the EU your a isolationist
If you agree with Human rights your a leftie
If voting changed anything they would ban it !

Fcuk me Ive become Russel Brand minus the hair and plus about 14 stone !

Makes you wanna Holla and through up both your hands !

its a shame that the protest thead has been merged but I can see the reasoning behind it - basically we have been here before and the protests have never amounted to much.

although I said yesterday that this is the best time to protest I can see a problem if for example we beat Manchester United.
for any protest to be successful then it needs to be backed up by the media. if we beat United then all the focus will be very much on them and our supporters will look very ungrateful for demonstrating.

to be taken seriously by the media I think any protests might have to wait until we slip behind United, Liverpool and Spurs.
I think Wenger knows this and why in the big picture the odd defeat to Swansea etc isnt very important. he is still on target for 4th place unfortunately and in that case he is going nowhere.
