70 million is hardly a low ball offer, as if we would create bids as a pr stunt, Ive heard some conspiracy theories on here before but that's just ridiculous.BFG4 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 11:38 amThis Mudryk deal is seeming like a PR stunt. We are yet again pissing around with lowball offers knowing they would never be accepted and now rumours are that Chelsea will blow any Arsenal offer out of the water. Rather than moving on and buying someone else we will wait for him to sign for Chelsea and claim we were trying to be active in the window. The club are full of shit.

The player also has to agree to the move - he might say no to Chelsea, just like Elvis Costello did.gooner265 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:27 pm70 million is hardly a low ball offer, as if we would create bids as a pr stunt, Ive heard some conspiracy theories on here before but that's just ridiculous.BFG4 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 11:38 amThis Mudryk deal is seeming like a PR stunt. Exactly and only 12 international appearances , 70 million is a great offer, the 106 they want is ridiculous and fans are saying just pay itRedarmy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 8:12 amfor a guy who has played less than 50 games in an inferior ukranian league....70 milliongooner265 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:27 pm70 million is hardly a low ball offer, as if we would create bids as a pr stunt, Ive heard some conspiracy theories on here before but that's just ridiculous.BFG4 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 11:38 amThis Mudryk deal is seeming like a PR stunt. The transfer market is totally fucked because if we won't pay then Chelsea will.

It's ok, we paid 72 million for Pepe.....what could possibly go wrong?

No breakthrough in Arsenal talks for Mudryk but parties close to the deal indicating there is still a strong desire to reach agreement on fee this month. Likely rejection of second offer has not cooled Gunners' interest yet, though they won't be dragged into bidding war.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Lowball offers are not determined by whether you think 70 million is alot of money but are determined by whether this meets the asking price Shakthar want. If they have made it clear they won't be allowing us to haggle then it's up to the club to meet that price or move on. My point in saying it's seeming like a PR stunt Is we are offering lower amounts and it's seeming like a face saving exercise to appear active in the market. At this stage I just hope we have a backup plan because I'd be shocked if this deal goes through.gooner265 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:27 pm70 million is hardly a low ball offer, as if we would create bids as a pr stunt, Ive heard some conspiracy theories on here before but that's just ridiculous.BFG4 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 11:38 amThis Mudryk deal is seeming like a PR stunt. If we want to Challenge for the Perm Title and the other Big Trophies the club will need to Splash The Cash regardless.
Having fucked-up by squandering £72 million on Pepe, the owners may feel they got their fingers burnt; which they did, however to maintain any sort of Serious Challenge for Trophies in UK & European Football these days requires clubs to Spend BIG and improve their squads on a continuous basis!
I know it's not what the majority of fans would want that the game be owned by these billionaires who view their ownerships like an over-sized train-set, particularly as the money they do speak is a tiny proportion of their wealth. Sadly the game is now and shall remain (until it's financial demise) Big Business and so it has been taken out of the hands of the majority and cornered by the minority (the so-called Big Clubs).
Abramovich in buying the chavs was the beginning of what has become an Avalanche in business terms - It just so happens the thieving cun't did it with stolen money - which everyone knew, but he was given a Free Pass by those who are supposed to be Guardians of the Game. They are equally to blame as far as I am concerned.
Whomever gets Mudryk will have bought a very good player, whether he settles into th eprom is another matter. the ScouseFilth bought Nunez who is struggling; he most likely come good, but there are no guarantees.

Arsenal & Chelsea will accelerate negotiations for Mykhaylo Mudryk this week, with Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin in London for talks. Despite a formal offer of around £60m that is set to be rejected, Arsenal are still frontrunners to sign him. [@sr_collings] #afc

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
AS understand it, we have bid in the region of £60-62M, they value him at £88M, immaterial of our thoughts on his worth that is a hug gap. None of us would be happy with us selling Martinelli or Saka for 25% less than we thought he was worth (immaterial of real worth) so i can understand Shaktar's reluctance.
If our club/Edu/Arteta think he is what we need and are serious then they need to significantly up the bid, if they are not willing to pay then scrap the deal and move on, we must strengthen this window if they are serious about the league.
