Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

WENGER stop pissing about, get the players you want in. Do it with minimum of fuss, and maximum effect. Utd, City, Barca, Real Madrid, Inter do not piss about, we are just as rich as they are yet we scrapping about. Sunderland have shown their intentions in the transfer market and will probably finish above next season.
People were up in arms when they heard we bid 12million for him. Now we have supposedly bid 6m ( which probably what he is worth) people are saying we should be "sorting" this out.

Fact reamins it sJuly 8th no signings, the team go to aisa on sunday so we wont be signing anyone never mind oxtail soup

Liverpool will beat us to Mata and Wenger can go back on his pirate ship and play with inflatable slides
I see your point but I know for a fact if we had bought this guy for 12m then people would be having a go at Wenger for wasting money on unproven crap.

We have already lost out on Alvarez due to our constant haggling, and had the january transfer window not have been closing that day, I suspect the Arsahvin deal would have fallen through.
It makes me wonder is Wenger deliberately under bidding on players in the hope that deals will collapse, but leaving him being perceived to be trying to sign players.

My thoughts entirely. Its almost as though he wants the deals to crumble as he still wants to prove us wrong with the current crop of cunty loser cretins in our squad.

There must have been some interest about Denilson, Diaby, Bendnter , rosicky so why the fuck are they still here.

The whole world is saying wenger is wrong and the he has been a failure the last 6 years. From being the best manager in the world his ego must be getting in the way now.

Out of the top 4 teams we are in the most need for players. Yet we haven’t signed anyone.

Tick tock wneger. I am hoping you prove me wrong so I can apologise about my ranting about you….

We will be even weaker going into this season than we was at the end of the last season. Not stronger… That’s for sure

but £6M!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Why should we pay 10-15m for an unproven talent from the championship?

:banghead:
Because if he's worth it then that's what you pay, not half the price.
How do we know he's worth that? We've supposedly bought Gervinho for less who helped Lille win the league.

Can't just pay Southampton 12 coz they say so

But he's been marketed around those figures for ages.

He's young and more importantly English. Hence why its so much.

wow, reading this thread reminds me of why i never come here. people are fighting over the signing of a 17 year old nobody...

it doesn't matter if oxyde chamber-frankenstein signs or not or whatever, he is not the player who is going to make the instant impact for next season we need so much. gervinho might, considering he is a lad who played in a world cup and just lifted the league and cup double of a decent country being a key player for his team. see the difference there?

we don't have a single left back who we can rely for next season, alex song keeps being our only defensive midfielder and we still depend on koscielny, djourou and squilacci for the heart of our defence. not to mention the other positions up front where we are clearly lacking quality.

fuck southampton, fuck oxygen-chesterman. we need to spend money where it will actually make a difference from the start of next season.

he is under 18 so we are sure to pay big money for the kid.

Or we could spend the same kind of money on a proven star

See, posts like this are way off the mark, how I wish we never lost out in the Chase to another young nobody called Ronaldo many years ago to United.

Granted we need strengthening in other areas but we also need to be one step ahead when securing talented kids, how else do you think Fabregas got here? Football clubs are not that short sighted especially one as stingy as ours.

Offering Southampton 6m is insulting when they value him at 12, its no better than Barcelona offering us 27 for Cesc.
