Yeah, more than a bit cultist. But to be fair, Arsenal were never broadcast on television in Asia or in the States with anyone else at the helm.

Not making excuses for them but when you say it's like they don't know Arsenal under anyone else, it's literally true.
Exactly the point. Look how all the official Arsenal sources include wenker in all photo shoots from training or games etc. and how they call him The Boss. The Boss this and The Boss that :blah: :blah: :blah:

Der Führer cult was similar, so was Stalin, Kim Il-Jong and Putin and... It's about building a cult around one person, that is not so unfamiliar regarding all men that has too much power in their hands. Yes, those men I mentioned did do much more than just managing a football club but it is about similar propaganda.

like all AKB's he's a low information poster making excuses.

wenger has 100% control of the club, more money than he wants, and we have won 4 games in 11 in the league and 7 in 18 in all comps, and we are EIGHT points behind southampton in his 18th year in charge.

I would love to know just what would be the tipping point for your old man SteveO,maybe if Wenger let Sanchez go to that shit up the road on a free?? :rubchin:
I doubt that would even do it mate - I've spoken to him or been with him through most of the debacles of the past few years. Sat next to him at Wembley when we lost to Birmingham - he bought into the 'special circumstances' and put it down to a one in a million display by Foster. Watched the beamback of the 4-4 against Newcastle up at the Bowl with him - all down to Phil Dowd (was 50% with him on that one). The 8-2 at Man U - he came up with a Red Member style defence of us saying that we had to ensure we got the job done against Udinese. Last week at Swansea (and several other games) - its down to the injuries

He first watched Arsenal in 1950 and says that he's seen more shit than good and that the football we've played under There's Only One has been the best he's ever witnessed

The biggest criticism I can get out of him was that "it was daft to let Jenkinson go out on loan" :D

He sits with a group of old boys that have all been going for years.....some of them are even older (in their 80s). Only one of them wants rid of There's Only One

Sometimes I wish I had that attitude where I could just love my club again through thick, thin and thinner, but I think I'll only start to really love the club again once you know who has fucked off.

Surely if you love your club then you want them to be all they can be and be ambitious to do better ?? How does sitting on your hands through a long term malaise, equate to loving your club ? If they really loved their club that much, then they would be to put that love for their club over the love/admiration of it's manager (Arsenal FC not arsene fc).
I often hear comments from all the (much much) older Gooners who defend wenker and point out that have seen the club been a lot worse than this over the years - I would like to ask those guys, were our players back then pure shit, or were they quality players playing in a shit system that prevented them playing to the required level like we are currently seeing ? Is there even one of them (older fans) that believes that this team is playing at the top of their game and that the system we play really brings out the best in them ? Do the veteran fans believe that our players are no better than hull, Anderlecht, Leicester etc ? If the answer to those two questions is no, then maybe they need to look at the reason why we are underperforming cos a c.unt that won trophies a decade ago isn't or shouldn't be allowed to live off them forever

i don't have a problem with us being crap - but i do with paying the highest ticket prices in world football and leaving Highbury AND still being crap.

to me thats where the line was drawn - if i was paying two quid again and rolling up to Highbury still - like i did in the 1980's, i'd grudgingly accept that we're not going to get any better, but now having sold our soul i expect the best and no excuses,

Ha ha - good old Red. Miss him more than any of the other lost friends on here

When Chesney first broke through and played some blinders.....and made his first mistake, I'll never forget Red labelling him an 'arrogant moron' and saying that he wanted Almunia back :D

ONE RED MEMBER.........THERE'S ONLY ONE RED MEMBER

There are a lot of words that can be used to describe that piece but the best one I can suggest is that it is pathetic - I have seen akb spout some bullshite arguments in defence of their lord, but that is the saddest effort I have ever seen and stillman should be embarrassed to have written it

The spin is hideous.

For Stillman to label Sanchez as "profligate" is as extraordinary as it is misguided.

He also throws up a straw-man argument that converting incoming players from one position early in their careers to a new one with Arsenal is not a bad thing and uses the example of Petit moving from defence to midfield and Ashley Cole moving from left midfield (as a youth player) to left-back as reasons why Arteta can play defensive midfield.

It is disingenous of Stillman (who wrote the article for those who have not clicked on the link); Arteta simply is not top notch as a defensive midfielder, regardless of where he played earlier in his career.

And as for Cole, many youth players move around positions until they find their most effective one in their early 20's.

Moving positions is not the worry.

The worry is are players good enough?

At least one commenter points out how Petit's physique and style of play naturally suited his midfield role with us.

Stillman also calls our start to the season "Slightly underwhelming".

Again, some of the better comments point out we have been lacking for the last six seasons!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Did anyone see Wilshere's post Slovenia interview?
He said that Gary Neville had been drumming into him the need to look up and play longer passes rather than 5-a-side passes, and Wilshere laughed as he said this.
I might be reading too much into it?
But it came across to me as a nervous laugh, that Wilshere knew his training at Arsenal was too focused on short passing at the expense of longer passing.

Does Arseblog need the extra hits or something? Unsure why it would associate itself with such a mouthpiece.

Drawing comparisons with the Invincibles and the double-winning team of 1970-71. Surely that would ring alarm bells to anybody reading this? Should be sectioned for that.

I gave up at the line

He is clearly not inept, or stupid, or “clueless” as some suggest, otherwise Arsenal wouldn’t finish about par where they should every single season

Because that's what its all about for the best paid manager in the league isn't it - finishing 'par'. I remember clearly when the Arabs bought City, old Sir Rednose sat back and thought "Yep......par is now third behind Chelsea and City so be content with that for the next few years"
