Didn't we used to be good at counter-attacking?

Now we pass it sideways and amble up the field.

Difficult with one up front, but do you want only 4 in midfield away to the Mancs? They would surely walk though us.

Almunia and Gibbs, star players tonight.

We were going to be overrun in the first half but survived and kept the ball better in the second half.

Lack of cutting edge in the final third, but nothing new there (without AA).

1-0 not the end of the world. It sets up a great match next week.

Concede one though and we have to score three.

We beat them 2-0 earlier in the season so still very much in it.

Can't see AW changing things too much. What options does he have? Dudu or Nick can't play up front by themselves.

Ade on his own again and Fab, Diaby and Theo pushing on a bit more.

Wenger has shown far far too much loyalty to players who are no longer repaying that loyalty. I will accept players playing badly if they are trying their best but how many can say that tonight ? If these players have gotten too comfortable with wenger then we need a fresh approach with somebody who will give some of these lazy c**ts a kick up the arse :x

On a positive note I will tip my hat to almunia and gibbs who were our best players by a country mile 8) I will also defend silvestre who I thought didnt do as bad as I feared and I was totally against his selection tonight and I still hope djouru is selected the next night. Kolo also improved 2nd half and sagna did well all night
Augie, I can never, ever disagree with your posts..... (ever) so true...

OK, i got back from a late job at nearly 10 so it was all over, rang my brother and he siad we were shit, bearing in mind he is THE most biased Arsenal supporter ever I can only assume we were REALLY shit.

But having read some comments about diably and adybarndoor i feel i have to comment, these 2 jokers came on against middlesbrough the other day and you could see that they basically passed to each other from the moment they came on. Its a sort of piss take because they have been on the bench etc and they have colluded to fuck about.

Couple of morons imo, they really are BIG TIME CHARLIES, fuck them off out of it, you can see they don't give a flying fuck about THE ARSENAL.

We've got a second life despire playing with noone up front tonight (I refuse to acknowlege that useless sack of shit we had in 25 in any positive way). I think we'll do them next week,

Yeah, I'm ignoring logic, I'm ignoring the fact that we should have been dead in the water after 25 mins, ignoring the fact that our counter attack had zero pace tonight and I'm ignoring the fact that they'll probably score next week.

Its all set up, the atmosphere will be immense. We're going through next Tuesday, I just have a feeling.

Words can't describe how frustrated I am right now but...

I think four players did ok tonight. Almununia, Silvestre  , Toure and Gibbs Fabregas. had a poor game but that was down to the players around him more than anything else, if nobody makes the runs what is he suppsoed to do? Give the ball to Ade with his back towards the goal and surrounded by four defenders? It was more the players faukt then Wengers, he was constantly urging his players to go forward but they didn't listen and I guess he's the one responsible for bringing em to the club.

It's been proven twice in less than two weeks that we can't compete with ManU're or Cska stolen rubles when we it counts and it hurts. Thé club owe us success after forecing us to move from our spirutal home to the crappy stadium with the crappy name they noe try to convince us is our home

yes but back then we had players with brains on the pitch,,,this team but be more intelligent off it but on the pitch their brains are about as good as a 15 year olds. Anyone else would have understood not scoring at Old Trafford means we're out....might as well not turn up for the game at Emirates now.

I'm with ****'s 2 inches. We didn't deserve that result tonight but it is a good one. If you gave me 1-0 before the game started I would have snatched your hand off.

However we'll need to be better next week or I'll ask for my money back. :D

the only positives to come out of tonight, were almunia and gibbs. but i would have taken a 1-0 defeat before the game and i have to belive that we can beat them at our place
wenger can't set up as negativly at the grove, rvp and eduardo MUST start, greedy should never wear our shirt again, he was a disgrace tonight and if milan still want to give us 25 mill for him in the summer we should bite there hands off.
diaby is not an arsenal quality player, and why arsene feels so much loyalty to him after the chavs and tonight performance i will never know.
next week we are going to have to fly out of the gates at them, put pressure on vidic and ferdinand and press as far up the pitch as possible

one last comment, i thought our fans were fantastic tonight and did every gooner proud, the atmosphere at the grove next week needs to be as intimidating as possible and we need to be behind them more than ever before

Sigh.

I suppose that just shows how far we've fallen. Taking a defeat, without even an away goal

I see what you mean though, Chippy... we could be dead and buried, but BEFORE the game, I would definately NOT have taken a 1-0 defeat!

We're HUGE underdogs now, but it's still all to play for next Tuesday!! 8)

I disagree with one thing. If Wenger was going to go mad and believe that Nasri should be playing behind Cesc, and that Nasri also has less attacking threat than Diaby, and tackles better than Diaby, then I won't worry that Diaby was actually on the pitch.

Denilson was diabolical against Liverpool and Middlesboro - I have not forgotten those performances, so I understood why Diaby played, but not why he was played wide FFS!

The formation tonight made us look bad, and Wenger played at least 3 players out of their natural positions!

Mixed emotions after that game. The failure to be a bit more ambitious in the transfer market over the last few season meant that we were always the weaker squad going into tonights game. While Man U had goal threats all over the park in the absence of AA goals were always going to be hard to come by. Given that, the players at our disposal probably did about as well as could be expected. Very few teams own the ball to the extent we did in OT. There is some hope that we can be a little more adventurous next Tuesday and even snatch a victory, but I think many of us have the feeling that Utd will score, and in that event are we really likely to put 3 past them? That would be asking a lot for such a shot shy squad. I have always believed that as long as we fail to add to the squad replacements for the first team players that have departed and rely on the emergence of young talent we will fall short in the head to head battles against clubs that lavish 100s of millions on the worlds best players.
