Fuck me Mr Brown/Orange must be feeling suitably embarrased!

He has spent the whole summer chasing players and appears to have got fuck all.

When Benjani and Zamora turn you down you know things are not looking rosey!

I do want him to sign the Big Swiss Cheese though. I would see it as the perfect retribution for the Spitgate shite.

I did naively think we would sign at least one player today - how foolish of me.

So somewhere in the region of 40 million quid coming in and roughly 10 million spent.

What more do you need to know. We are a selling club and that's fact.

None of us were expecting the megastar big name signing but I think we all believed that at last Wenger would address the all too obvious holes in our team/squad.

We must be financially fucked right now as there simply cannot be any other reasonable justification for this.

i must admit that i'm upset. i think we will miss song during the ACN. i'm not worried about CHs as i think djourou and senderos can be decent cover, and i never wanted a striker. but i am upset that we did not sign a defensive midfielder.

I have to say I am quite shocked we haven't bought a defensive midfielder - Song's absence for the ACN is reason alone to do something, let alone the fact that we've still sold 3 defensive midefilers in the last 2 years and are yet to replace them and are £30mill in profit this window. :banghead:

But, the one thing that gives me slight consolation is the fact that Man U, Liverpool, Villa and Chelsea have done little business either...this has got to be the most boring and frustrating transfer window ever for anyone but a City fan.

Premier League net spending down over 60%.
Gross spending down 10%
Gross spent on overseas players down 40%

I wonder what the figures without City would be.
