As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Even Arshavin's mother would concede that he was awful in the first half, constantly careless in possession and with his passing. Yes he scored - although I put that down as much to bad goal-keeping, as the keeper left his near post exposed (and, in my opinion, AA didn't strike the shot properly. More a toe-poke). Aside from that, he was poor.
Fair play to the lad, he definitely improved in the second half and was very instrumental in our attacking play, culminating in setting up 2 goals. That's the Arshavin all of us want to see.
It's funny because I love the guy for all his attacking ability and down to earthiness (if such a word exists), yet he infuriates the feck out of me with his carelessness and occasional lack of effort. Indeed, in the last couple of matches I've seen fit to 'offer some advice' to our Russian meercat about the testimonial type effort he was showing. It seemed to work as his second half performances improved considerably in both games.

Chamakh is making Wenger's decision not to buy him last Jan look very silly indeed. His link up play is outstanding, quick feet, intelligent, great first touch to go along with his aerial ability. Looks a proper player.
Jack Wilshere......absolute class.
He demands the ball, looks for the quick pass, can beat a man either side, gets into great positions, is disciplined, tackles....reminds me of a young Liam Brady.
The boy is going to be huge for both Arsenal and England.

Cesc. Jack and Chamakh......
And although shava gave the ball away too many times ...he also goot his (usually) lazy arse in gear and chased back and tackled.....he must have actualloy broken into a sweat last night!
Last night was great but most pleasing for me was Vela. He looks great in the central position and most importantly puts the chances away.
Somebody wrote on the online gooner that Chamka is the new Henry !!
He is a good player in the air but no Henry on the ground.
We should all know by now to judge our team against the best as we can beat anyone 6-0 on our day apart from the big teams.
After we have played United, City and Chelsea we can talk about our chances.
Would Messi have scored 4 against our new central defence ?
I think no but we would have last the game.
I for one am not looking forward to Bendtner coming back as he would not have scored the 2 goals Vela did in the short time he had.
Time will tell but for now lets keep our feet on the ground as the last 5 years have taught us.
