No, that isn't right. It's not about whether or not anyone can call Spurs fans ****. The point is that it was decided by those that own and run this forum that the word **** would not be allowed on here without being asterisked. Sami already knew that but tried to be clever and sneak it in anyway. When I've pulled him up over it, he used a total spurious argument to try and deflect the responsibility for what he done.

I agree with what sami is saying as regards to the majority using the word about the scum are not actually racist or anti-semitic, its just a term that has become the "norm" when refering to them.

But Sami you're so wrong if you believe that Jewish people dont take offence to this word. Just ask your mum or dad, or grandparents their views on the word.

I think Tottenham have had a fairly big part of developing the word Y*d by condoning it for so long. As other Spurs fans you see who run after rival fans wearing a shirt different to their own singing 'Y*d army'.

It's not a word I like to use, personally.. But cmon, don't start suddenly stating you are against anti-Semitic chants and views when in fact they are on show every 3pm on a Saturday at the lane.

I have many Jewish friends in what I would say is the "normal" Jewish community in NW London, and I can confirm that **** has *never* been used amongst them.

You're out on your own on this one, pariah, and I wouldn't say anything to embarrass you, except I wouldn't like the rest of the forum to think "Ah well the Jews use it amongst themselves so it's okay." It's totally utterly taboo and there's no two ways about it.

BTW thanks to everyone else who replied to my OP, it has been interesting reading. There have been a handful of times in my 20 years with a season ticket that I've heard things that made me want to chuck it in, but best not to let them win, and it's always been a *tiny* minority who take it one step further. (Not that I'm saying "basic" use of **** is acceptable in any way, but what can I do, Arsenal is my club too.)
