I made a judgement about him as a person (dead or alive) that he was a bad'un - like so many of these gun-toting bullies are in our inner cities. I also made a judgement about the behaviour of the thugs on Saturday and Sunday night and stand by that 100%. Nasty, horrible people interested in nothing else but themselves and where their next pair of Nike's are coming from.
As for Mark Duggan carrying a gun, I would rather civilians did not carry guns. But even if he did, it does not make him an evil person.
Oh dear, I rest my case!
Well you've failed if so. Because:

1) We dont know he had a gun
2) We know he didnt fire it
3) Gun possession alone doesnt warrant shoot to kill policy.

It's quite possible he was in fear for his life and carried. If you dont believe so, travel to America sometime.
And perhaps you should also be aware of the fact that there are very many people in America who do not carry a gun because they are 'in fear of their lives' but because they choose to spread fear - as is the case with virtually every single person with a gun in these sorts of communities in London. It is a shame we cannot all be as tolerant and liberal minded as you are about gun possession.

You haven't made a rational "Case".

See Northbankbren's and Irish Gooner's excellent posts for reasons your argument on the shooting does not stand at this point in time.
I've made a completely rational case. Look at my previous posts. I have covered a wide range of issues and given reasons for my views. I don't live in a conspiracy world like you where the police and Daily Mail are out to get us all. Carry on with your 'let's find an excuse for any behaviour' mentality. Your previous comment about people who carry guns around London is frankly laughable.
If you think the Police and The Daily Mail are paragons of truth then you have a lot to learn.

My comment about guns?

From your posts it seems you live in a harsh world where people are either Saints or Sinners for all time and nothing in between, based on one aspect of their behaviour.

Did I say the police and Mail are paragons of virtue? No.
Your comment about guns? = you are not necessarily a bad person if you carry a gun!
Living in a harsh world? - too right. Zero tolerance is the answer.

If anything Thomas Mitchell you sound like a Daily Mail reader , not us:
zero tolerance
anti human rights

I myself am more a reader of the internet and I like the guardian compared to most newspapers its usually spot on. I dont usually fit in with its stereotypical reader though.

Typical tactic of the left, if pulled up on your mollycoddling of scumbags just make a quip about the daily mail and all will be fine

Well done @Quartz, @IrishGunner and rest who are trying to present reasonable argument here. Killing people for no reason is just not acceptable.

Anyway, I think many here are concentrating on negatives, but lets look at positives:

Price of properties in Tott'nam will inevitably go down, so that will open window of opportunity to first time buyers, happy days.

Glazers are gonna do really well out of it, happy days.

And lets not forget coppers who are going to earn a lot of overtime.

You saying I am left wing?

I have been aggressivey attacked on here for my right wing attitudes in the past!

I mentioned the DailyMail because they lead with a character piece on the dead man, but I trust the Mail's journalists about as much as far as I could throw one.

Anyway.

#hackney serious looting as we speak, #Clapham Junction starting up and BBM messages circulating that #brentcross shopping centre is to be hit later tonight.

Where did I accuse you of being a Daily Mail reader?
Actually I don't read the Mail myself.
Yes I do believe in zero tolerance of anti-social behaviour.
Human Rights for those who obey the law, not break it.
As for reading the Guardian, I never understand why people hold this up as some flag of virtue. Like it makes them better, more rounded or more intelligent than someone who takes another paper. I am sure you would get a more accurate view of the world from The Daily Telegraph! Then you can be more like me and the world would be a better place. :)
