If anyone wants to join me and raise a glass for Abou's 6 year anniversary then feel free. The beers are on SteveOkiwomya wrote:Not sure, but in 2 weeks Diaby will have been at Arsenal for 6 YEARSrodders999 wrote:Affter a sum total of 21 minutes football this season anyone know where the bean headed c**t has gone?SouthCoastArsenal wrote: No doubt so is that c**t Diaby

We miss the big man more than Wilshere
SteveO I just got this exact text from the Mrs, who has followed Arsenal (in a female way) since we've known each other:
"Henry back to Arsenal?? I thought he was old and playing golf in America?! Surely it can't be the same Henry! I thought Wenger signed good young players and gave them a chance!"
There you have it.
Joke Club. Wenger has No pride or shame. C***.

The odd innocent female quote makes it all the more amusing. On Boxing Day, my old man - an AKB of proportions that make Red Member look like a Black Scarf man - was waxing lyrical about Lord Wenger and how we're so lucky to have him and I quote "the best manager anywhere in the world".Babatunde wrote:SteveO I just got this exact text from the Mrs, who has followed Arsenal (in a female way) since we've known each other:

To which my sister finished her glass of red, looked up and said "Yeah, but Dad, aren't we 5th or something now. What about all the other managers above him?"
A few mumblings about resources etc.....and the conversation petered out rapidly

Whats even more scary is that a few people around these parts believed it would actually be different.Gunnersaurus wrote:What's scarey is that he's stated that he will make no permanent signing in Jan.
Henry and Bridge it is then.
Yep folks, its goldfish brain time......also known as the transfer window. Still, I'm sure he'll fix it in the Summer

Brilliant. I can just see the Stasi throwing anyone out of the corporate bowl if they don't cheer and clap hysterically when Henry is unveiled. As for me I'm firmly in the camp that isn't happy.Babatunde wrote:KIWOMYA
The funeral cortège for Arsene Jong- Il has already left. Please continue your weeping on Wenger State television...
Thanks
Or save yourself the trouble in your next post and just copy-paste
"Arsene I love you and would dearly love to kiss your tender lips"

I just watched him on SSN and he said that we won't be signing permanents unless others depart.brazilianGOONER wrote:he said on the press conference this morning. it's on .com's twitter. i quoted it on the transfer rumours threadIrish Gooner wrote:Heard that a few times, is it on .com?Gunnersaurus wrote:What's scarey is that he's stated that he will make no permanent signing in Jan.

On SSN Wenger was playing down the media hype about Henry saying "He is here to help" and even bizarrely said "Don't put too much pressure on him"...
Obviously there will be the inevitable media frenzy when he resigns but surely ANY signing will be subject to media scrutiny, especially someone as high profile as Henry.
It's almost as if Wenger was not convinced himself at the signing.

I think it says more about the strength of the side that an aging Henry is better cover then Chamakh and Park than Henry's current ability at the moment. I'm happy he is back and while I'm not expecting in the first 11 I hope he gets some playing time. Besides, when we need a goal and we decide to keep passing it around the pitch then Henry can at least be relied on to smack it from range with a good chance of it ending in the back of the net.
