If things start now then we might just have enough time to conclude one deal before the window closes at the end of August. Podolski might have signed by then

It's a little known fact, but anyone joining manure has to let Shrek shag their grannies (yup both of em! ) and 'Pods' as he will be called when he joins Arsenal, is not keen on that idea, as he shags her himself on a regular basis.

There, Sorrrrrtted

Why not ? :o We havent had a genuine goalscoring threat from the wings since Freddie & Bobby and Dempsey would def bring more to the table than walnut and Klingon. In fact 10m wouldn't be a bad price in today's market I would think

I agree with Augie!
Dempsey is very under rated and is a very good player, ten million might be a tad expensive but he would bring some goals from midfield

Vertonghen and TV5 would make a well tasty pairing at the back, yes, BUT what about Kos who has been awesome this season, and can only improve !

See this is a point I have made many times too - I am not questioning the talent of the guy and if the rumours of his physical approach are true then that would be very welcome too, but I would have thought that we have other higher priorities in the team unless one of our centre backs is departing or unless he see's one of them playing in a different position like quartz has suggested :?

Thing is Augie if (or should I say 'when') TV5 or Kos get's injured - we are left with Djourou (who is worse than Cygan and is most definitley an accident or five waiting to happen), or one of the youngsters coming through...we do need another 'ard man' at the back and Vertonghen certainly fits the bill...he reminds me of TV5 with his no nonsense , I'll sanp yer feckin' legs approach, but also has 'Skills' which is what AW always puts in his tick box....

I agree with you (except that you seem to be forgetting bert :x  ) and I personally dont want djouru within a million miles of the team but the fact remains that wenger in his ultimate wisdom ( ) rates the guy and has just given him a new contract and that is why it is hard to fathom the thinking in signing this guy
