THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Kroenke should be the major shareholder but under 50% - he can put in money and have a good level of control, but not run it liike Chavski.

not another wenger out thread, very boring. If you want to support a club who buys success try the chavs or manure

How about randy lerner at the villa ? He has come in, made funds available for improving the team without going ridiculous throwing money all over the place. Of course he too has a history of sports ownership (like silent stan 8) ) and knows how things should be done

Sorry rebel I responded to the original question without going to page 10 of this thread so was unaware that you had already pointed out the villa to our uninformed friend

Might be wrong but Chelsea :?: :?:[/quote]

They only have massive loans from him from the other stuff he paid for

Aston Villa is a good example of a good chairman coming in, not putting them in debt, giving the manager funds and time. Of course now we said that, turn out he is leader of a Satanic Cult

I can see and feel the rage erupting at Arsene at the mo and yes it is justified. Pretty much all can see that we are lightweight but to call for his head. Sort yourselves out.
The mob mentality that is here at the mo sounds so much like the mancs 5 years ago when they had their wobble about Taggarts leadership and that they were a fading force. Yes they have spent which takes them to a different level than us, agreed. But getting rid of Wenger is not the way. We just want to know what the score is with funds, debt etc.
As a club we have no divine right to win anything, you have to earn it, which for me leaves me looking at 2/3 years away before we do.
So don't get onto the players backs ( Denilson/Eboue) because that's all we have. Let the club know how we feel with highest ticket prices for the lowest expenditure!!! It just don't add up!!!!!!!!!!

I stand by the comments that I made a few months ago that failure this season should lead to changes at the top and that includes wenger.

You are right worthing when you say that we have no right to success and that we have to earn it but after that we see things differently -

Wenger say fulham wanted it more on saturday so does that mean he hasnt be doing his job in reminding his players of who they are representing and their obligations that come with the job ?
Since end of last season we have heard wenger say that we were weak defensively last season and then later say that we dont need a new defender, he said that his priority was keeping his squad together only to lose 4 senior players, lately he has said that we need another midfielder and would have him signed before twente return game only to change it by saying a few days ago that we would have the new signing before the end of the transfer window and now his comments over the weekend he has told us that he is nowhere near a new signing  Does his failure to see the weaknesses right in front of his eyes and his failure to address the weaknesses that he does see mean that he hasnt done enough to earn that success ?
How about the players ? Can you honestly say that their performances in the 3 competitive games to date have done enough to suggest anything near success this season ? How much success should they earn after their performance on saturday ? Has ade ever done enough to suggest that he earns every penny of his £80k per week ?
And lets not forget the dickheads that run our club ? Can you say they have done enough to earn success for our club ? Do you believe that their continued lack of proper investment merits success for the club ? Do you think their lack of ambition should be rewarded with trophies galore ? Do you honestly believe that a total lack of personal investment suggests that they have earned anything other than the continued failure that we are witnessing right now ?

As I said above we do have to earn our success but we are not doing enough to earn that as a club either on the pitch or off it

The rosey tints keep reminding us that we only lost the league last season by 4 points (ignoring the fact we blew a 6 point lead).

Why then has Wenger gambled with 6 points over the last two games by not bringing in a decent central midfielder before the season started? A struggle against a very ordinary West Brom and a defeat against a pretty awful Fulham.

Why wait until two weeks into the season to buy the player our squad is crying out for the most? He has had all summer to secure a signing yet the deadline for it keeps getting pushed back while our team struggles against at best mediocre opposition!

Arsene knows!

Be fair gus - arsene was busy all summer commentating on the euros for french tv and after that he had to sort out the problems at psg so where would he get time for trivial little things like replacing the players he lost in the summer plus filling the gaps we had from last season ?

I should also have said in my previous post that wenger also said that he would have his transfer business concluded before the start of the euros and now with only 6 days to go before the end of the transfer window he is still searching for players to replace what has left in the summer
