Thats the price that all away tickets should be.... none of this £50 + per ticket shit ......Ziegler1988 wrote:At least tickets are cheap: http://www.arsenal.com/match/report/131 ... al-ticketsZiegler1988 wrote:Yeah, it's not great. I'm flying Boston to Istanbul as part of a multi city trip and then the Istanbul to Heathrow flight on Turkish Air was $600....mattyb wrote:
Just checked some flights only deals... nearly £300 and thats without the match ticket and accommodation. .. will the travel club option be any cheaper I wonder ... ???
I shouldn't be worried this will sell out before Red members should I?
Weve got 2300 allocated.... its difficult to say really....risky if youve already got your flights booked, though youll probably pick one up on here ?...
Re: Champions League Qualifying Round 2013
I know I will get the "how can you be a fan and want Arsenal to lose" reaction, but if Wenger doesn't buy a top class striker, then I do honestly hope we get beat. This would put unprecedented pressure on Wenger.

We had a lower allocation to Udinese two years ago and it still didn't sell out. I doubt many will fancy this since it's not cheap to get to and we played there five years ago.mattyb wrote:

I'll eat my hat if the away leg doesn't go to reds. Reasonably big allocation, expensive as fuck to get there, only 10 days until the game, perception of it being a "dangerous" trip (totally untrue)... Reds will get tickets for sure.

How about a goalie defender dm and a winger to add to the list .goonersid wrote:I know I will get the "how can you be a fan and want Arsenal to lose" reaction, but if Wenger doesn't buy a top class striker, then I do honestly hope we get beat. This would put unprecedented pressure on Wenger.

I take your point sid and whilst I can't agree as I never want us to lose, I would also say it wouldn't make a tad of difference with the board we have. They were already making excuses last year saying "We've budgeted for the possibility of no CL football". I honestly think Wenger's deathgrip on our club would only be loosened if he failed to get CL football 2 or 3 years running. THAT is how ineffectual and spineless our board are.

Re: Champions League Qualifying Round 2013
Maybe not so much from the board initially, but most definitely from the fans, especially if we were to drop points in the league that we weren't expecting.DB10GOONER wrote:goonersid wrote:I know I will get the "how can you be a fan and want Arsenal to lose" reaction, but if Wenger doesn't buy a top class striker, then I do honestly hope we get beat. Don't get me wrong, if we sign a top striker (even rat boy) then I think we can have a decent season.

losing this game would surely make us LESS likely to sign players...
Re: Champions League Qualifying Round 2013
Can't agree at all. The calibre of players Wanger will be aiming for will still jump at the chance to play for Arsenal and earn 50k plus a week. Wanger gets players to sign by offering stupid wages to mediocre players, we've seen it a dozen times over recent years.losing this game would surely make us LESS likely to sign players...

Yeah but if Wenger recovers from his hyperventilation once he realises we've missed out on the cash cow you can bet even the petty cash will be kept in a safe behind several layers of protection.TeeCee wrote:Can't agree at all. All that obviously is subject to the world not ending if we fail to make CL group stages.

Another example of how football's governing bodies shouldn't be trusted to run a market stall.
Just think of the ridiculous scenarios; they get thrown out but we get players injured, the clubs that would have been in the qualifiers sue UEFA, fans pay a fortune to watch a game that is then erased from the record books, etc.
It's a grade A fuck up as well as being about as bad a draw as it could be.

Oh no I'll be away on holiday.......how will I cope without this wonderful competition?
Re: Champions League Qualifying Round 2013
I don't know enough about it, but didn't UEFA do all they could in their power by banning Fenerbache? and didn't Fenerbache then, as they're allowed by law, take their case outside of football, and to the court of Arbitration for Sport?GranadaJoe wrote:Another example of how football's governing bodies shouldn't be trusted to run a market stall.

Is this UEFA's fault? - I thought it was just a classic case of politics mixing with sport in the same way justice in UK courts can be delayed and/or overturned by taking your case to the European Court of Human Rights?
As I said though, politics isn't my thing at all

Re: Champions League Qualifying Round 2013
i hope we lose. as i really don't care. we haven't a hope in hell in winning as we dont have the quality or depth in the squad.
i'd rather we go out and we do better in the league and FA Cup.
whereas we used to run Juve, Milan etc ragged, now if we face anyone decent we're going to lose so whats the point ?
