cos we haven't worked 30 years in football, wtf do we know
Not the first time he's made one of those bewildering substitutions that leave you scratching your head.
I think that so far this season we've looked a bit more comfortable in our formation/tactics than for a while, and that our midfield balance looks a bit better so that we're a bit more fluid in attack getting numbers forward fast, but not then looking like getting carved apart so much when we lose it.

But Wenger's substitutions still baffle me a lot of the time. If we're winning a game we inevitably end up sitting deeper and deeper, so when he takes our left winger off and brings Monreal on instead of shoring us up defensively it just ends up taking away one of our only outlets and means the ball's gonna keep coming back.

Like most CL group games it was appallingly shite to watch. But a fantastic away win. Great instinctive finish by Feo. As clockender said he is good when he has no time to think about it. Ramsey's goal took a massive deflection. From the camera angle behind Rambo it looked like he was cutting it back to his own left. But the key thing for me was that he pushed on with the ball and took a shot at all when there were at least 5 pointless passing options available! Good on ya, Rambo 8) . Arsene will probably fine him a weeks wages!

Chesney looked all at sea again, spilling balls everywhere. Mertesacker really is a coward. How can he turn his back on a shot? Gibbs did the same. Fucking pussies.

A word for Giroud. He worked hard and offered himself but he got fuck all decent service. The fact he has scored as many as he has with the two worst crossers of the ball in the world (Gibbs and Sagna) feeding him from wide is a miracle. At one point Sagna dropped the shoulder, left his marker for dead, moved into acres of space with all the time in the world and then hit the first defender in the fucking knee with his cross! Under no pressure whatsoever. Appalling.

No reported major injuries and 3 away points. Job done. :barscarf: 8)

It was to give the Japanese audience a look at one of their boys in an Arsenal shirt. it was purely a money decision.
Well you're on the right track except you're wrong...It's because Myaichi is also the new Bruce Lee and threatened to kick wengers lungs in if he didn't send him on... FACT!

Absolutely. Without any shadow of a doubt. Fucking yellow streak a mile wide right down his jelly spine. NEVER goes in where it hurts, gets outjumped and outmuscled by OneBard Ewok type midgets, and worst of all turns his back on shots rather than launching into them to block them. Kos might be disaster prone and a bit of a lunger but he is mostly fearless.

Not sure he's a coward....I just think that it's "modern day" defending. All scared shitless of handling the ball. Suprised their shorts don't have pockets.

Agree that most modern defenders are like that but Mert ducks out of nearly everything head height and actually cowers away from shots, often with his hands up protecting his face. He's yellow.

I judge alot of CH's on the scar tissue visible when you see them up close. Look at Adams and the old school; eyebrows, cheeks, eyelids and foreheads covered in scars. Even look at Terry and Kos of the modern breed. Scars everywhere.

Then look at Mert? Practically spotless. :|

Did he not get a nasty facial injury earlier in his career? maybe that's had a lasting effect, still no excuse though.

Think he might have. But as you say - no excuse. He needs to man up.

I'd like to see more Miyachi (?) out on the left wing while Pod is out injured. I think he may have some proper skill.

Think that I would rather have a good defender than someone who has a face that looks like it has been dragged through a barbed wire fence. I am reminded of the age old theory that suggests that a defender making all these great last ditch tackles is only having to make them because he wasnt reading the danger early enough and/or was caught out of position to begin with - I know that it is too much of a generalisation to suggest that but I also look back at paul mcgrath who was an outstanding defender and he left the game devoid of scar tissue on his face at least.

Way too much of a generalisation, augie. I am not talking about last ditch lunging tackles, few CH's would get facial injuries that way. I'm talking about going in for headers in the oppo box and clearing same in our box. It's about putting his head in where it hurts. Totally different to last ditch tackles which are indicitave of poor positioning.

Also, you've obviously never met McGrath up close. I've met him twice (once at a pub promotion thing and once in Dublin airport) and he has the scars in and around his eyebrows.
