Can't see us winning. They have a poor record at our's so probably a draw before they beat us in a replay.

Yeah they don't turn us over at our place but our only 2 wins in the last 5 home games against them have been narrow and pretty unimpressive. The last two times they have stopped us playing completely with their organisation, pressing and physicality and if they click on the counter they're more than capable of beating us convincingly.

IIRC wasnt it Manure playing in the Champion of the world thingy matches and not playing in the FAcup the first thing to derail the FA Cup being THE top day/ matches of the year :?

it was in 1999 -2000 - after their triple year. The outrage was that they were holders and FIFA wanted them in Toyko or somewhere on FAC3 weekend.

If I remember right FIFA didn't give them much leeway - it was either have the FA delay the entire FAC3 round, or have united play it on a thursday or tuesday around existing mid week league games. so it was tradition and honour, versus freebie trips, advertising revenue and endorsements for the FIFA delegates again.

Oldest Cup Competition in the World or $$$ in FIFA's pocket.

only one winner.

Why do people claim "the cups" are worthless as if the FA Cup is even remotely comparable to the milk/worthless/mickey mouse cup?

Back in the TA6 days we always used to thrash Everton at home but it's a very different story now.

If you got points for kicking the ball around in the first two thirds, Arsenal would win hands down. It's the final third where we lack the fire power and gusto.
I really have no idea how this game will pan out. I hope we win obviously but it's a very hard one to call.

Good luck, Arsenal :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I am going to the game tomorrow with my seven year old lad. I have been trying to explain to him how great the cup is and the history behind it. However I can see how he looks at me out of the corner of his eye (the same look his bloody mother gives :banghead: ) and I know he is thinking "Yeah right. It's not the Champions League though".

I really fear that in 10 years the FA cup will be more of a mickey mouse cup then the littlewoods, carling, cocacola, capital one, whatevertheyfuckingcallit cup is now.

Absolutely buzzing for the game today the magic of the cup isn't lost on me yet not by a long shot, the thought of a potential cup final this year is what's keeping me going! Narrow win today then pray we get the winners of Sheffield united v charlton in the semi! COYG

FOR FUCKS SAKE WENGER :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Let's not be distracted by the fact he had a good game in the last round, he is an inferior keeper and a liability. Anybody who has forgotten anything beyond his past 5 or 6 performances for the club please rack your brains.

1. SZCZESNY DOES NOT NEED A FUCKING REST
2. WENGER CLEARLY DOES NOT THINK FABIANSKI IS THE BETTER KEEPER
3. THERE IS LITERALLY NO REASON TO PLACATE HIM IN HIS FINAL FEW MONTHS HERE

This has fucked me off more than anything else he has done. Despite his arrogance in the transfer market and with team selection/tactics at least he does have a genuine (deluded) belief that it is for the greater good. There is no fucking reason for this clown to play today.

If there was a decision that encapsulated how little winning trophies mean to Wenger it will be picking Fabianski today, Szczesny being suspended for the Bayern game gave him a perfect opportunity to reintegrate Szczesny into the FA Cup team with no fuss.
