Villa Away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Great result , couldn't get a reliable stream so missed most of it .
I'm happy that we won an away match to anyone after getting thumped away in Dortmund.

It's a great win. Great goals by Welbeck and Ozil and a very tidy 3 points away from home. :barscarf: 8)

Ramsey's appalling form is just getting worse game by game and he needs to be dropped for a couple games I think. He is over complicating things again and trying too many flicks and backheels - all the stuff that he did when he went through his 2 season long spell of ubershitness. I don't know if it's a mental thing with him, but he just needs to simplify his game again for a start. Just pass and move, keep it simple. All players have dips in form but he is a key player for us and tbh he is a liability at the moment.

But he will come good to some degree. All the top players do. And even when he was at his worst a couple of years ago you could see there was quality there, and then we saw that quality at it's best last season. Hopefully he'll get a handle on it sooner rather than later.

Thus far I've been to Villa Park seven times including semi finals, three defeats and four draws (all of which were 0-0).

Easy win for us.
Voodo broken :barscarf:

A very comfortable performance after the first 20 or so minutes, as the chap in front of me pointed out, when the Villa fans kept the ball in their end in the second half, it was the most possession they had in the entire game.

Or maybe last season was that dream, once in a lifetime, season that can never realistically be repeated again ?

Very very possible, augie. I said something similar earlier this season when I questioned if Rambo would have maintained the levels he hit early in the season for the whole season if he hadn't gotten injured. I like to think he would have and I like to think he'll come good again but I still have a slight niggling doubt on both counts tbh... :|

He is a quality player, but the most important thing is consistency. He has to deliver that level for the majority of the season, and it has to be season after season. Without that consistency he is just a flash in the pan and the PL has been littered with players that had that one outstanding season and then never got near that level again.
