I enjoyed the win today, but ultimately every win now comes with mixed feelings. The AKB'S were out in full force after today, these people are pathetic, it doesn't matter how many games we lose, doesn't matter the level of opposition, or the level of mis-management by Wenger, once we win, they are there to tell us how wrong we were about Wenger. It doesn't matter the fact that we are 13 points behind Chelsea, and haven't a hope of catching them, once we are in the race for the money league, then these people are happy :banghead:

This is going to be a long and boring post, so feel free to ignore.
I always read the match thread on the way home from a game but don't usually post as normally i've had a few and most of my opinions have been covered by other people.
I do, however, come on here and stick up for our support. I think there is a myth on here (SteveO) that every one in the bowl loves wenger and are all brainwashed. I have denied this, as I've only heard his name sung once last season and have felt the crowd has turned on more than one occasion .I thought we was now in the majority, the tide had well and truly turned and this maybe his last season .... and then it happened..... "one arsene wenger"...loud and fucking stupidly proud.

I now know we have him for the next 3 years and I'm close to giving up.

I've always been able to separate wanting us to win but still wanting a change of manager. I understood people thinking that a defeat would accelerate him leaving but could never bring myself to think like that and actively want us to lose. Having said that I've never been so unbothered about losing to the mancs as I was the other week, it was expected, and even though I celebrated the last min goal against Southampton, part of me thought it was an empty celebration.
I still thought it was nearing the end of wengers reign though. He seemed to have lost the players, some of the media and a lot of the fans.
I travel up with a few different groups of fans from my area and have been arguing with many regarding a change for a few years...and finally, this season, they have all agreed...i thought we had won.
Now, after the chorus tonight, I don't think we will ever win...
settle in for 3 more yrs gents..its going to be a long, boring ride :(
My mate, who I sit next to, a season ticket holder in his fifties, is thinking of giving up next year. It breaks my fucking heart.
I've often argued on here against giving up and being replaced by the tourists/jcls as that's what the club want, but it's getting harder and harder to justify going if no one else is. I still think if I stop I will have lost massive part of my life and they would have won...but maybe it's time to say enough is enough, as I'm looking at 1200 quid for the next 3yrs. For what? The same shit every season? Fourth place? Mediocrity?
Sorry for being such a depressing post after a 4-1 win, but that's what it's come to now, all the shit forgotten after a couple of wins against teams that hardly turned up ...one arsene wenger indeed.

Hopefully I'll sober up and cheer up tomorrow.

On the bright side, I thought Bellerin had a decent game...and the Geordies were fucking awful.

We were superb today, against the inform team.
Everyone I spoke to today, were disgusted by the abuse Wenger has been getting. Lots want him gone, but were very angry about the abuse.

Good win ,Im happy , missed the wenger tribute but its not surprising ,as Ive been telling you calling Wenger names at Stoke has backfired on the WOB.
People who might have otherwise supported you have turned against the protesters !

That was my reading of it as well tbh.

I don't think it was a genuine or long-term backing of his management but a reaction to Stoke train station.

Ok, so some AKB's and media luvvies tried to kick up a stink about the banner but ultimately the banner had an impact because it wasn't abusive and had a simple message which paying fans are entitled to express.

I know the "WOB" population are not responsible for a few pissed up blokes at a train station but it has temporarily set things back. Things are going to need to get pretty bad for the general Arsenal fan to put up with mindless abuse of one our greatest ever managers, even with the paucity of silverware and groundhog shortcomings over the last 7 years.

Nothing's been setback because there was nothing to set back.

The support for Wenger and the status quo at Arsenal is not going to be changed until we start looking like we are not going to be champions of the also rans, both in Europe and at home.

I enjoyed the pace with which we played and I liked the way Newcastle left themselves wide open for us - thanks :D They come to our place like we go to stoke, play almost exactly the same way and achieve the same end product.

There's only one Alan pardew :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I don't entirely agree - the train station incident may have encouraged a few more people to join in but imo it's telling that the chant was only wheeled out once we were 3 goals up. People were only willing to supposedly defend the integrity of Wenger once the game was won.

The sad reality is no matter how bad things are, we are only ever a few mediocre victories away from everything being expunged. And then when we do exactly the same again in a few months time, it's like it's the first time it's ever happened.

I think his time is up yes.

No I don't think he's a c.unt.

Do I think the abuse is wrong, yes 100%.

Whilst the chavs and mancs have money to throw down the drain, I think its almost impossible to win the prem.

Do you go to the games?

Personally I find it possible to disagree with someone without thinking he/she is a c.unt.
