Enlighten me as to how this was a wind up post???

You then turned my post into having yet another dig at Wenger. I didn't mention Wenger in my post at all.
But nevermind, you wanted to brown nose all the other Wenger haters here and you probably succeeded.

I guess all my posts will be labelled just an attempt to wind up everyone here.

Funny thing is I've been critical of Wenger in the past but my generally positive posts here are way out of line.
We must bitch, moan and abuse our manager and players at every opportunity.

But I guess that is the way with the modern football fan.
I agree with what you are saying, early days to judge Elneny, and yes looks ok with movement passing and shots on goal, if a bit light weight
But as i posted earlier we are crying out for additions in other areas and he adds this guy who does not look what we need
Hope i am proved wrong

Apparently Basel were extremely surprised that Arsenal were in for him. They had interest from other, less significant premier league clubs who they thought was more his level.

Without judging him, couldn't we have produced or looked in England for someone like this? I get the impression he's one of Wenger's leetle gambles.

My issue with the signing is that he is being signed in the January to appease those who know we needed to strengthen if we want to win the title - yet is obviously a long-term squad addition who even if he ends up being a good fit in that role will have little or no impact over the next few months.

Clearly a summer replacement for Flamini and Arteta which has been brought forward for the wrong reasons.

Don't be so harsh, 100+ touches on his debut.

Coming from the Swiss lgd straight into the power/pace of British football he did well.

Wtf kind of bullshit is that ?? :? Who gives a f.uck how many touches he had ? It is not how many touches of the ball he has, but more what he does with it that counts. A few years ago denilson had the best passing stats in the league, but it didnt factor in that most of his passes were 10-15yd sidewards passes
Anyway imo a DM is there mainly (90%) to break up opposition attacks, and I dont want a guy who see's himself as the fulcrum of our attacking play

When an unknown player from a shit league which no half decent club were in for it's a damn good sign what type of player he is. The chances of this guy being the Egyptian Vieira are slim to none.

I'll speculate and say he was signed to increase the Arsenal brand in the middle east. Even the official Arsenal twitter account were posting El Nenny updates in Arabic.

Probably because we’ve seen the likes of 2nd div cloggers like Rhodes and McCormack go for fees upwards of £10m; Wenger (parsimonious bastard he is) would more likely be happy spending £5m on this chap and can the act smug if it works out.

If it doesn’t, he can say the fee was cheap.

I don't think anybody has been particularly harsh. Contrary to a few comments nobody has written him off.

What would be harsh would conversely be expecting the guy to make a substantial impact over the next few months. Understandable that people are somewhat reluctant to get excited about this one and only signing when the bloke has got no hope of carrying us to the title.

I'm pretty disappointed he apparentley isnt the DM we need.
Am I right in thinking that with a shot at a PL title and with tens of millions for transfers, Wenger has yet again failed to strengthen in the three areas we need? ie:- CH, DM and CF?

When you know that the league is there for the taking this season, any signing would be expected to contribute towards that goal - you might think that is harsh, but the reality is that le cock said that we were short in midfield (now) and he bought only one midfielder so one would naturally assume that le cock see's elneny to be the answer for that spot. Had we bought another more experienced midfielder then elneny could have been eased into the team, but we didn't buy one so the Egyptian has to come in and make an impact now. Comments about him being shocked at how physical the English game is, doesn't help him at all either
