The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Guys at work were on about us being in for Mahrez today but I can't see any even half reliable sources in the media. Where'd they hear/see this story?
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
I was all for vardy signing but he has already shown a lack of respect for the club and fans ! I think any offer made should be withdrawn then if he dies want to then its cap in hand time or fuck off
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Biggest non-Wenger signing since Jug Ears Jeffers in 2001 or whenever it was.
One thing's for sure, Wenger isn't going 4-4-2, so it's either Vardy out wide or him changing his style to play our game.

Agree Sid, if he is dithering about joining then there must be some no-mark from France who we can stick on £40,000 a week and say I'm sorry he didn't cost £20m.goonersid wrote:I was all for vardy signing but he has already shown a lack of respect for the club and fans ! Hopefully better news from Armenia in the near future

Cynical me says is this just a play by the club to be seen to be trying to sign someone, trigger the clause then dither around over the negotiations then they can say 'we tried but it didn't work out, oh well'.StuartL wrote:Agree Sid, if he is dithering about joining then there must be some no-mark from France who we can stick on £40,000 a week and say I'm sorry he didn't cost £20m.goonersid wrote:I was all for vardy signing but he has already shown a lack of respect for the club and fans ! Lee Dixon has summed it up perfectly.
I just think it's a sign of the times all round that JV is considering the offer made by AFC. There was a day when The Arsenal was enough
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
I think any other year he wouldn't think twice about joining us. The fact that they are the current champions and just done something remarkable I can see why he would have some time to mull over it. Ok the money plays a factor, of course it does. But to lead out Leics in the CL next season at the King power would be something special.
That said I think signing for the Arsenal and a chance to play with Ozil and Sanchez may just win the day

I'm.more excited by the prospect of signing Mkhitaryan than Vardy. Mkhitaryan's arrival would also signal the end of Walcott's Arsenal career.

Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
I can understand the delay, he's part of something special there and next season in Europe will be the same, if they've offered him more money and they get relegated he will still have the same financial security for his family so makes sense for him to think it over properly, he's a king there, wouldn't be here.
What I don't get is the heart string part, he's been there 4 years, if he leaves he earns little Fleetwood millions, surely that's more important to his thinking? Leicester would survive, Fleetwood would win the lottery, I just think he's having doubts due to his status there.
He would be a great signing though, I don't buy this nonsense that he don't fit the style, if the style is slow, insipid and dull football because Giroud is a static waste of space then thank fuck he don't fit that style, that's not the Arsenal style for me, that's just the side playing that way because they have no choice with Giroud upfront team looks completely different when Walcott played upfront and looked half decent against United and Leicester, Vardy would transform the style due to his work rate upfront which we don't see now apart from Sanchez.

Vardy has changed his twitter profile pic, from wearing a England shirt to a Leicester one.
