THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not encountered him before.

Would Bould and Wenger really have a full argument in front of the players as this guy claims?
Tweets have gone private, maybe out of concern for the club employee he was referencing?

To answer your question Quartz, yes, I think it's entirely possible.

Posssible but I cannot envisage it.

A cross word or remark in the moment?

Yes.
Wenger can snap, and reputedly so can Bould (The alleged pre-season bust up with Song.)

A full on lengthy argument?

Nah.
Cannot see Bould doing such a thing in public.
They would go to Wenger's office if Bould was close to resigning and Bould would issue a "Make changes or I leave" line.

A frank discussion in the dressing room with players chipping in what to do to sort things out?

Yes, as per after Blackburn at home 1997.

The difference being that the team in 1997 had enough men in it to say their piece and stand their ground. This current team is made up of spineless, low ambition, (but rich) sheep. :|

Got text from my brother who is Germany on holiday (his son lives there) He says Fact; Rodgers will get the sack soon and Klopp will be the next manager at Anfield.

That would truly worry me tbh. Klopp could turn the mousers around. :|

Think there were factions in the dressing room in 1997 and ironing them out saved the season. Not sure that is the case now. As footballers are in fact employees they like all of us react at times to the management in charge of them. Some managers are strict , some are motivators and some you can do what you like with them. Maybe our stars are in the latter situation. Maybe they stroll through life knowing their is no consequence from within and they are protected from external consequences.
Sometimes players with pride take control and grab people by the throat because their professional pride is hurt. cannot see that figure in our dressing room.
Whatever the answer it can only be solved by a massive clear out.

Your brother works for Dortmund, does he? Complete horseshit. Klopp has said a 100 times he will see out his contract at Dortmund and then look for a new project.

And he wouldn't choose Liverpool. Klopp will probably end up with Man City in 2 years.

Come on Arsenal, do it now or never! Transfer Wenker upstairs which of course isn't good enough either but still better than what it is now. At least Klopp would bring in some tactics...

This is still my favourite article on Wenger's modern day Arsenal, it's spot on. This was written after the defeat at Bradford, two years later & absolutely nothing has changed.

No he doesn't work for Dortmund , Klopp will see out his contract but may well end up in Anfield then. Rodgers could be sacked Thursday..Liverpool would appoint an interim manager, just like your lot did with Giggs.
You seem a bit cocky today Derek, not your usual self. Are you buying into the "we have turned a corner" wankathon we have heard from the Plastic Mancs after Saturday.. :D :D

there is a chilling sentence in the last paragraph "One way or another, though, the Wenger era is drawing to a depressing close. "
that was 2 years ago...and the :censored: is still here and probably will be for another 2 years :banghead:
