My question is, if someone of the calibre we would like (Klopp, Simeone) became available mid season would the board make a change? I think its a resounding no.

I actually think him leaving now would leave us further in the mire, because i actually am pretty confident we will be top 4 - and thats all we can hope for now after this debacle of a season so far.

We need top 4 to keep the likes of Alexis and attract a decent manager - and sadly top 4 is all we can hope for this season now. Im afraid he is the cause, but also the short-term (and i mean short-term) solution.
would have agreed with you in seasons past on this but not now.
top 4 has got nothing to do with attracting anyone - it is a myth which has been blown apart this season by the kind of signings that United have made. if you pay the money these days then they come.

if it was announced by the club that Wenger would be leaving his post at the end of the season it would galvanise the whole club, the support would get behind Wenger one final time to make sure he got 4th place and the club was in a good position to hand over to someone new. if he doesnt go now I don't expect us to make the top 4. in the past you could expect us to go on a little run but it just isnt going to happen this season. the decline has set in and it will be rapid now, no way back. He has to go NOW

I simply cannot see the logic of us "needing top 4" to keep Alexis. This logic has already proved to be hair-brained at best.
Let's get this straight: we got 4th and couldn't keep Cesc, or Nasri, or or RVP, or Cole. This bullshit myth needs to stop: Alexis Sanchez played in teams that won league titles and made CL finals. Finishing 4th won't keep him interested cos he's a winner. If he just wanted "CL football" with a team with zero chance of winning it, then why doesn't he join CSKA Moscow or Anderlecht? It's nonsense. Sanchez 4th or no 4th, will leave if he thinks he can't win a thing.
So sorry let's take no chances: 4th place and there's a chance Le Tool keeps his job. That absolutely cannot be allowed to happen.
5th place please, and rebuild with Klopp or Simeone.
It gives the next guy less pressure tbh, and let's him implement his own ideas. Wenker is so useless I can almost guarantee he could not get to the Europa League QF with this squad. He's a farce and finished.

Gazidis said "the fans will decide Arsene's future"
So it is up to us to drive the cancer out.

I have read past articles where Arseblogger has strongly critcised Wenger.

Guest columnist Tim Stillman though bends over backwards to defend Wenger with what I consider weak ammunition, as discussed a few pages back on this thread.

Great article by Henry Winter. What we need is a small room with Wenger, Winter and Jacqui Oatley in it and see how Wenger wriggles himself out of it!!

You're spot on with regards that cretin Tim Stillman. A knowledgeless acolyte, a North Korean style sycophant with no clue. His cases for Wenger are so laughable you have to think they're related? Arseblogger is a joke Quartz sorry. His "strong" criticism of Wenker usually goes along these lines:

"Bla bla the tactics were all wrong, the players were demotivated, the defence was at sea and the attack useless. The manager certainly deserves questions asked...BUT, that Usmanov ain't he the devil incarnate eh? And besides our board are wonderful people, do you know they sometimes let me lick their marble floors after they've trampled all over them bla bla"

I mean it isn't even remotely impartial, it reads like a public sponsored bs broadcast, straight from the board's HQ. it's clear he wants to stay in the board's rectal passage so he can get his few crumbs, but I mean FFS...at least pretend a bit?

this.

even allardyce, pardew, lambert, redknapp etc could do better with this talent even though the squad is lopsided - they would likely risk a young CB and DM

I would have argued Hockaday and Leeds but then again most teams realise the errors and rectify them.

Le fraud responded to Usmanov's criticism in typical arrogant, "I'm the the best you all are peasants manner"
“Look, I think first of all, in the 18 years I’ve been here, I’ve shown I can take criticism. Everybody has the right to have an opinion,” Wenger told his media conference ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

“Having said that, we have values at this club. The first one is when you have a difficult period, you show solidarity.

“The second one, when you have something to say to each other you say it face-to-face. You don’t got the newspapers.”

Wenger added: “Believe me. I don’t take it personally at all. It is an opinion I respect.”

I said a while ago that we wouldnt get top four, and nothing has happened since that has changed my mind. Our last two wins came against Sunderland(through a thanks for the memories present by Mannone) and Burnley, and we couldnt break them down for 70 minutes, at home. There is nothing in this team, no fight, nothing. Does anyone think that professor clueless will realise we are commiting too many players forward in games, and getting picked off, i dont. This is going to get worse and worse.

Why do you think we need top 4 to keep Alexis? We've been top 4 for the last 1000 years and still sold all of our best players.... anyway, the big question IS SWALE STILL FOR HIM?

Thankfully, even his army of minions are beginning to see the light. Arseb logger is in the same pot as Red Action far as I'm concerned. The day their messiah is gone - and that day is around the corner - they are going to have one almighty scrap to see who can catch the last drips of piss from Wenker's dinkle
Stopped reading the Arseblog years ago, a right load of club-span bollocks...

More bollocks from the insane one.
"I believe in what I do and I believe in my players, their quality and their spirit. There's a very strong bond inside the team and inside the club. We will have a very strong season."

I really hope we don't qualify for the CL, I hate the competition with a burning passion (in fact I haven't been to a home tie since the Udinese qualifier several seasons back) It's because of the easy qualification for this competition (a competition by the way that our shit for brains manager should have won long before the chavs did) that Wenger and the club are just happy to qualify for, for the dough, in fact Wenger prides himself on the continuous qualification for him, what a joke this 'man' has become, a loser now in every sense of the word.

Give me a new manager, even a few seasons of mid-table finishes (just to clear out the window-licking mongs that now follow us) and time for the new manager to get rid of all the shit that Wenger has stockpiled in players, backroom staff and useless scouts)!

Like questioning the naïvity of your defence PUBLICLY ? Hypocritical c.unt   :cussing: :cussing:

Re the long term commitment of players like sanchez, can I just say that I t6hink that we would be more likely to be able to hold onto them if we made positive changes in the club even if we missed top 4. Stumbling along and scraping top 4 in this shambles will make any self respecting player, question what the fcuk kinda mess is he in - the world and it's mother can see that he isn't capable of organising this team so I'm damn sure that players like sanchez can see that too and finishing top 4 cos of other clubs ineptitude will not convince him to stay.
Btw klopp is a big enough name to keep and attract top players so please don't argue that losing le cock will affect the abaility to sign quality players
