THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Clockers:

Absolutely gobsmacked to see anti-Wenger articles springing up everywhere in the media now but where have all these hacks been for the last 10 years?

I for one welcome our new bandwagon-jumping overlords.

I was actually browsing that last night (.com too) for the same reason and it seemed to me like the anti-brigade outnumber the supporters on both.

I often browse that forum and there are more than a fair few that are as passionate about Wenger leaving as anyone, but there are a couple who you might say are still completely brainwashed!

I think in general the media opinion on the managers failings is at its most critical point yet and at the stage where a few wins on the trot against lower table opposition will bat it away. More inevitable defeats in the big games and capitulations at the likes of Swansea and the criticism will only get bigger.

Given how poor the league is this year, even how poor we have been, 4th is still very likely but with that being said I don't think it will be enough to put and end to what is now big attention from the media to consistent failings.

the comments below the online gooner's article is 30% AKB, 70% WOB - the AKB's are trying to spin opposing wenger as being a JCL glory hunter - which is bit ironic when Kev Witcher started the Gooner in October 1987 - before even GG was successful.

it would be " Online Arsenal - Since 2003"....says it all, doesn't it ?

i saw one knob who won't debate a bloke on wenger because "he had an agenda" - seriously, you couldn't make it up.

Any of you seen that pic of the ManYoo can outside the Emirates stadium after the game?
It said "Wenger In".
Add that to the Chelski fans singing "Arsene Wenker, we want you to stay"

If we get 4th then great, he leaves having secured another season in the CL and, despite the last few seasons of awfulness, I'll bid him a fond farewell. If we finish lower than 4th, then we can have a fresh start without having to go through the dull CL group stage.

Btw I'm not an AKB or a WOB, I'm just a bloody Arsenal fan! This categorisation of fans pisses me off TBH, it should be possible to have a mature debate on the management without it.
Are you new here mate?
who are the TBH's I want to join them they sound cool :barscarf:

Agreed- the last game I went to. Left early and swore I wouldn't go back til he had gone. Honestly didn't think he would still be here years later. Hope he's gone soon as I have told my boy I will take him to his first match for his 8th birthday in Feb. He'watched the game with me Sat and he said afterwards "Wengers is Rubbish, why can't we get the Chelsea manager?"

I honestly believe that as long as there is a breath in wenkers body, we will not be rid of his influence in the club - he will appoint his successor and he will stand fully behind as we continue down the path of mediocrity and it will be every bit as hard to get rid of a wenker appointment as it is to get rid of le cock himself    :censored:

Hold on here chaps , if you think that not qualifying will a) lead to regime change and b) that the new manager will be given large wads of cash then u are in cloud cuckoo land .

All not qualifying for Chumps league will do is that the transfer budget will be slashed to almost nothing !
