Bendtner; The Leg-end

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You know, he may well do! Even the shittest players have that one golden game. But that doesn't make him a top striker or even a good one. We need to be looking at better than him. Giroud is the best striker at the club at the moment and he is not world class. The Fat Drunk is miles off Giroud.

I'll qualify that by saying I still think Podolski is the best striker of a ball and the best finisher at the club but he hasn't had a run as an out and out striker to determine if he can fill that role to a high degree yet. I'd love to see us at least try playing 4-4-2 with Podolski playing off Giroud for at least 10 games. But of course we never will. :(

Wow, Steve0. That's a new low mate.
You're forgetting, and thus disrespecting John Jensen and his important goal for us.

"We'll be there when Jensen scores". :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

It's Not the first time he's scored vital goals in crucial matches for Denmark ,done the same against Portugal and the Ukraine in the past when the chips were down and has scored in World Cup wins too.
24 Goals in 56 Matches beats most peoples records.
People drone on about his first touch but at Arsenal he was expected to play tip tap and had balls hit hard at his feet by munchkins.
He is a center forward pure and simple ,and he could be a very succsessful one given the chance,he could have done well for us given the same chances as say Giroud has had .

Agree in principle with your post, the only difference between the 2 is attitude, as for ability I don't see much difference. And it could be argued that Bendtner has been far more influential at international level. As I've said before however both are shite.

He wasn't even in the Danish squad last night, so has he joined the crocked list as well?!

On that last bit do you mean the actual chances Giroud has had? as in, you think Bendtner would have scored chances Girous missed? or do you mean chances as in appearances? because Bendtner had a ton of those sort of chances at Arsenal. Wenger was often slated for the amount of faith he put in the boy but he just never progressed.

and what about the Chance he had each at Sunnie and Milan ?

he's lazy AND he bottles it in front of goal.

just think, if we keep him another two years he will be entitled to his Testimonial for ten years of 'service'...Djourou was due one this year, as was Song.

gotta love our youth policy.

Surprised to see him subbed on while the score was a close thing. He did have a good stab at one. Maybe he will come back into it.

If nothing else it gives Giroud a 10 minute breather in some matches and gives him the Carling Cup to show the world what a great striker he is.

The rising tide at Arsenal is raising all boats. It will be interesting to follow Nick's.
