The Banner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You must know a bunch of lads who go with similar viewpoints who can rally round before the unveiling each match, i know it's difficult these days with the Stasi stewards but towards the end of matches there is enough movement out the ground usually to allow people to move around with less interference.

Also if you have mates in different areas of the ground it might be an idea to pass the banner around because i'm fairly sure you'll all be marked by now, if not by the Stasi then by our fellow fans who want to shut you up, unfortunately with the mass media effect these days it's very difficult to remain anonymous.
I'm in the block next to the red-NO-action section and I'd be up for getting a banner in. Provided it's not too big you should be ok to sneak it in in a laptop bag or something. Nowadays the stewards outside are so busy doing security checks I doubt they would worry to much about a folded banner in a folder.

Banners PLUS

Post by OneBardGooner »

What we need to start doing is 'protesting' in a variety of ways...

We (groups of Gooners who sit next to each other) could all take in Wenger masks - easy to make - simply find a piccy - print cut out and cut out eyes....put on an elastic strap/band....also wear sleeping bags (arms cut out or sewn on - Optional) then every ten minutes stand and wave the arms about windmill-like.....then sit down again.....if done in groups/clusters around the stadium I feel sure that a) the camera's/ mediawhores would zoom in... and b) it would most likely catch on and c) be far more entertaining than the shyte occurring on the pitch....

Can't slag off those who have shown the banner(s) so far as they have done infinitely more than me but the reality is it needs to come out at a home game.

Got plenty of coverage and fostered plenty of debate after West Ham away. Yesterday was an even worse performance and result to add to that and yet another dismal showing in front of our own fans. Yet the two dickheads Smith and Henry managed to dissect Arsenal's word for 10 minutes after the game, lamenting the deja vu and chucking around terms like "post-mortem" and "inquest" for our season WITHOUT MENTIONING WENGER ONCE much less debating his position.

The spineless mainstream pundits are not going to talk about it unless they have to. The fact that fewer questions are being asked of Wenger after yesterday than last week speaks volumes.

Ok, my banner arrived today so my plan was to display it at the final whistle on Thursday (if I can get it in the stadium).
It is 3ft x 2ft and is pictured in my avatar. I am in block 6 near to block 5.

I don't generally do away games due to lack of credits but if someone wants to borrow it for the away games thats fine.

I'm guessing it is made if PVC so can be rolled up etc, so could go down your pants at that size

Or get DB to go with you and he could wear it as a cape although it will drag along the floor
