THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I said earlier that any win would be enough to appease a lot of our fan-base. These people will do everything they can to defend Wenger, and should we lose to West Brom, they will go into hiding again. There are fans who will see this season as a success, if we finish 4th, im embarrassed to be associated with these Muppets.

ONE ARSENE WENGER.......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

Think we'll beat the Baggies now and even Southampton before another lame duck effort at Stoke (where we will not be 'efficient' enough)

ok so we won but I felt nothing at the result - could just see the never ending cycle of 4th placed finishes, last 16 bumholings and increased ticket prices stretching in front of me

really starting to lose all interest - of course thats what the club wants.
60,000 zombies paying their money each week is Kroenke's ideal scenario.

Stan is a business man, any he is only interested in business stability and growth. That's exactly what he gets from Wenger.

As long as tickets are sold, the Armoury makes money and the sponsorship deals aren't affected the team performance is secondary.

I think i read somewhere in another post that the CL prize money increases at all levels next season, if that is true and Wenger then delivers 4th place and group stage qualification then as far as the business side of AFC is concerned he will actually of exceeded targets.

Now that is actually a scary thought....

Are the seedings for Champions League groups changing next season ? Think I read that they will be based on where teams finish in their leagues the previous season rather than historical achievements. That could see Arsenal as fourth seeds (I think) where we could have Bayern, Barca/ Real, AC Milan/Roma in our group. That would be fun.

This was exactly my feeling too. Great, we won. On we go, Real Madrid, Barca etc and a pasting in Feb. Brief respite for Wenger yet nothing has changed. Cracks nicely papered over, for now.

Yes, we'll be in Pot 2 next season. Pot 1 will be all league champions.

I may be wrong but if all English team do shit this year our coefficient suffers to the point where we could be in pot three.

King Henry wrote:Now, I can't think of a single thing he brings to the club and has turned us in to a laughing stock. I could possibly tolerate him until the end of the season if we could agree to bring Klopp (or another competent manager) in at the end of the season.
He will never walk because he's too stubborn and see's he is doing nothing wrong in his eyes, and he's also untouchable to the board and he know's this, the man will see out his contract and possibly extend it,we will miss out on Klopp and he will end up at another of our rivals no doubt,if Wenger had ANY moral's he would have walked away at least 4 years ago.
