ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Regardless of whether we win the league or not, the priority has to be replacing the Swiss turdbag. I haven't seen enough of Caceido to know what all the fuss is about, Rice is overrated....but it would be hard to think either of them wouldn't be an upgrade on shit for brains. We might look back at the end of the season and wonder if we'd added to that position whether it would have made the difference. Certainly when we were being linked with every winger under the sun, it always occurred to me that we are threadbare at CDM, to the extent that Partey missing a game is now something that causes huge upset. Elneny is an honest workhorse and will come in for certain games and do a decent job but isn't the answer for a CL/PL competitive team

Right back is a problem position too if White doesn't play. Tomiyasu has followed the Bellerin curse of getting injured and following that up with being forever shite - unable to tackle, pass, cross or do anything of note, and now massively error prone.

Holding also needs to be placed in the same file as Elneny - nice honest lad and all, but just not up to it

All of the above reasons are why I dread being in the CL. Don't get me wrong, I'll be delirious if we win the league, and think it will be an amazing achievement even to come a close 2nd....but not to compete in that fucking thing, because this squad simply can't. Still annoyed we tossed the EL away and more so because it was widely argued that it was a good thing for our PL ambitions, given the paucity of the squad

Well if we don't sign the positions above as an absolute minimum then I'm afraid we'll be back in the EL as soon as you can imagine, because the current squad can't compete on those two fronts. It isn't a coincidence that Chavski and City with their "double squads" are still in it, whilst the Mickeys and the vermin are not

Besides bringing in the players of quality we so desperately need I hope the offloading of those players simply not good enough is also finished: Nketiah, Holding, Vieira, Pepe, Lakonga, Cedric, Mari & AMN. (Obviously I would include Clive but sadly we all know he's not going anywhere - Yet!).

Chelsea set to sign 15 year old Ecuadorian Kendry Paéz for €20m. Player won't join the club until 2025 when he turns 18.

What a fùcking joke of a club!

That was announced a week or so ago. Laughable stuff from them.

Would be an upgrade on Partey and he’s not even that good.

Unless they are aged 26 or over and have at least 5 years PL experience I couldn't give a fuck. Said it for years under 3 managers and nothing will change my mind, and these c.unts are proving me right again

Hopefully a false rumour put out there while we chase our real target in stealth mode.

Who knows, Chelsea may be stupid enough to put in a bid themselves for him

What is a given is that we need 2 or 3 top quality additions to make the next step up ( and ensure this season wasn’t a one off )

Others have said they fully expect the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and United to improve - we need to make sure we do too.

Partey is one of our top earners, rumoured to be on £200k a week, so we need to decide if we stick with him for the next 2 seasons or offload and get in Rice / Caicedo for the future while Partey has some resale value.

I have it on authority that we are looking to get rid of Partey.

Due to fitness, and personal baggage.

People dismiss Rice but is he someone that would be a leader?

Keane was an average player but his leadership skills made him more. I think we need to start injecting proper leaders into this side as otherwise we will hit a glass ceiling at top 4.

PS - Not saying Rice is a leader but we need to sign leaders.

When he's on song (and Fit!) he's very good, but having witnessed how Bad he can be on Friday night And the fact he is so inconsistent... I would take Rice (and / or Caicedo) in a heartbeat.

Has anyone got any information on why ESR isn’t even getting off the bench? Best player from last season, and this season, he can’t even get a game ahead of that Portuguese limp stick of celery?

As generous as Rob Holding to opposition attackers.
