As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You're trying to make it sound like hes a poor pensioner whos just been mugged by shitheads down the high street after spending his last couple quid buying tobacco and rizzlas!
Poor old Wenger eh? Poor old, poor old Wenger. Hes only messing up a football club earning just 8million + a year fs. Nothing to shout about eh? Poor old Wenger. Didnt do anything to deserve this at all.
if hes just messing up running a football club then sorry but you don't feel the same way about Arsenal as I do,he is fucking my life up right now and has done for about 10 years
If there was a proper utilisation of talents as One Bard has suggested it would be a more effective and dignified way to pressure for a new manager.
How do you stop the abuse at Wenger?
If you are there you say something, it might (and has done at some games) lead to a fight but that is the way of the world.
Or you write on here and put forward your point of view.
An old man facing a gauntlet of hate because he is messing up running a football club?
I am opposed to Wenger but I do not hate him.
I am sad that he is a shadow of the manager he once was, like a man in quicksand unable to get out, flailing around for a tree branch or a rope to get him out of his predicament.
I don't disagree but I'm just surprised that it is news worthy. As I said before at most football grounds you hear disgusting abuse - and 99% of the grounds are far worse than the Emirates. Personally I found it much more distasteful when United and Scum fans sang about him being a paedo, or the stuff that Sol put up with for years from 'that lot'. A gauntlet of hate is a slight, sorry massive overstatement mate. The stuff Kean, Pardew and Allardyce have put up with is what I'd call a gauntlet of hate - thousands of your own fans piling into you at every home game. This was a one off reaction of a few twats who then thought it would be big and clever to upload it to YouTube.....and there is nothing you or I can do to stop it. People think I live in some Utopian world when I suggest boycotting games......well if someone thinks they can eradicate the whole of modern society from people acting like tits and uploading it to a social media site then be my guest and start a world crusade because it most certainly isn't going to happen

Spare me the "Superfan" martyrdom.
Obviously I care about the club, would countless hours on here alone be justfied if it meant nothing?
But I do not 100% define myself by the club I support and if you have nothing else in your life I truly feel for you.
The big picture is that we are not going to win the league under Wenger and the sooner fans realise that the sooner fans will not go berzerk at a loss.
The sooner Wenger goes the better but am I really going to spend a decade in depression because Arsenal do not win the league?
We fans own the lore of our club, but the fixtures and fittings are, like it or not, owned by a man sitting in Colarado.
QuartzGooner wrote:Wenger has made a mess of things for about six seasons now.
But do people really think he is deliberately trying to lose games?
I think he is a man who badly lost his way, but he is not some sort of fifth columnist trying to ruin the club.
Nobody said any such thing Quartz.
The fact remains that he has made a mess of things for at least 6 years. The fact remains that he has lost his way.
Nobody is suggesting that he is doing it on purpose. Dunno why you are making excuses/trivialising and deflecting the argument towards those who get off their asses and do something about it?
Whether he does it on purpose or not is irrelevent (and nobody is suggesting he is). He IS doing it and needs to go.

Quartz - how many people were involved in this incident at the train station (roughly)? Its hardly 3,000 people baying for blood is it?
You can keep your pathetic "Swear at Wenger" protest, it is not something I would be a part of.
All it takes is one idiot to go too far.
Sorry QG but your moral outrage is another mirror into the fabric of some of our precious fanbase
What happened to Wenger is not as outrageous as being made out. It was a few people. You think that's bad? Do you want to see what AC Milan fans did to Oscar Tabarez when they were disgusted by a few defeats? Do you remember what Madrid fans did to the Sporting Diretor that sold Redondo in their CL winning season? Do you know of the abuse Joan Gaspart got at Barcelona after Figo left? To the extent he couldn't go around the city centre of the town he's from? And what's this? Getting all precious because a handful of fans gave Arsene "criticism don't affect me" Wenger a few verbals as he stepped on the train? Yeah it's a bit distasteful. Worse goes on everywhere in Europe - that was VERY mild considering Wenger has been the architect of Ten years of humiliation for this club. The preciousness of some fans over this just reiterates how soft out base is.
You also need to remember that this is a man who's been incredibly rude and condescending to a female reporter doing her job, and even rude and dismissive of those paying his wages.

In which case Quartz, what's the point? Let's just hand him the keys to the stadium and give up. We have to apply pressure if we want rid and unfortunately, it often won't be pretty.

Whether he does it on purpose or not is irrelevent (and nobody is suggesting he is). He IS doing it and needs to go.
And that is the bottom line, whether he is senile/incompetent/doing it on purpose/NOT doing it on purpose/fucking useless or whatever,it is ultimately down to Wenger that the team are not performing, nobody else.
I can't sit here and cry out for something, anything to drive change and then turn round and cry in outrage because somebody used the f-word towards him.
He has completely brought this upon himself. If he'd just stayed too long then that's one thing, but his utter arrogance and contempt towards the fans and anybody who disagrees with him disgusts me.
I would draw the line at threats or gratuitous personal abuse but well done to those fellas. It has got far more press coverage than a strongly-worded letter or any of our pathetic sycophantic wanker 'supporter groups' ever will.
If he is to leave before the end of his 3 year tenure, it will only be because of truly ludicrous season results, or due to fan pressure and a concerted effort to make life truly untenable, both of which are unlikely.
My preference would be to stage a protest against Silent Stan (many more supporters would then get involved) about the manner in which the club is run.
1- How many on here have seen the Stoke train station incident and felt that it was uncomfortable viewing?
2- Would you have felt so uncomfortable if it was aimed at the SS? (I wouldn't!)
3- If SS's every appearance at the Emirates, and every venue he is ever present at in the UK!!, was made as uncomfortable as possible, how long before he'd make changes.
My point is this.
Attacking Wenger creates a division amongst our fans. Attacking the board and especially SS may be the way forward to indirectly increase pressure on our manager?
To try and answer criticisms of my views Ikechukwu, Northbank123, Armchair and Officepest:
My dislike of what happened at the station is far from a Daily Mail outrage.
It went beyond swearing, it was nasty and juvenile...the way he was singled out.
Just because other managers have had worse overseas does not excuse it.
As for Wenger single handedly destroying our club, I suggest people consider the owner and his vision or lack of it?
I am not trivialising anything.
The way some people on here write is as if they really think Wenger is on a mission to bring down the club!
We are not in the position I want us to be in.
The faults are many (962 pages and counting!) and long-term.
But if shouting in the face of a 65 year old man is "Doing something about it" then I am far removed from that.
I say again, Wenger is here until summer 2017 barring relegation or a scandal.
It is worth a campaign, but I cannot see it succeeding.
More that the campaign would let Gazidis know that no further contract should be offered, because that is a possibility under Kroenke.
Quartz I understand why it might offend some people but realistically for me it falls miles behold the threshold of what I consider proportionate given what's happened. If our concerns are raised in the sanitised way envisaged by the club (and instituted by the stewards) then they'll be utterly ineffective.
Oh poor Arsene, the mean men cursed at him . Firstly, no one was assaulted, secondly, he was told to fuck off, nothing personal was said against him. Also, think of it from this perspective, those fans that shouted abuse, travelled up to Stoke, and witnessed a cowardly performance, and at stage your going to be angry. This bullshit of making Wenger the victim is what I expect of an AKB. This is an arrogant muppet, who lashes out at anyone who criticises him, but the fans should stay quiet. When he said fans should go to a game and judge was it worth the price they paid(while earning millions himself) then he deserved every bit of abuse against him from that point on.
