ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Unlucky?, I'm not so sure, Tomi has been injury prone since we signed him, you could argue that particular injury was bad luck but still, we know he's unreliable.

I'm not having a go a Kiwior, he may turn out decent, he may be a dud, just that by signing a left footed CB, with little top level experience, we have not given ourselves the best chance to win this title.

I doubt we'll get another chance any time soon, I hope I'm wrong but if we effectively have 3 Man City's when/if United get middle Eastern money, after Newcastle already have then we have little chance of competing with our owners.

I just can't be fvcked with more top 4 trophy crap, fans that can stomach that for the next 20 years are better fans than me.

20 years ? My who is being optimistic tonight ?

Reality is now that money largely dominates and has corrupted this great game of ours, and we dont have the money to compete as long as we are owned by wiggy and his cunting son  The reason why we should be angry at this collapse is that most sane football fans know that there wont be too many seasons where so many clubs badly under-perform like they have this season, and when that happens you need to take advantage of it like leicester did - this top 4 trophy thing will last a lot longer than 20 years imo simply cos spending power wise we are going to be way behind 4 clubs at least every season

It has gone quiet on the Saka contract situation after rumours that he has all but signed. This may explain his drop-off in form. My neighbour's dog Alf told me that PSG has been sniffing around.
I was reading that Partey is on 200G a week. I cannot see many clubs wanting to take an injury-prone player like him on that wage. I think he will stay and be used as an expensive squad player like so many others in the past.
Smith Rowe out of all the hale-enders is my favourite player and to see his talent wasted sitting on the bench is criminal. The Villa deal would make sense to him as he would play under a manager that trusts him.
I would not be surprised to see Edu trying to pick up some freebies like Tielemans and Saha.

Yes 20 years was a bit optimistic lol.

Thing is we've had the top 4 is a trophy bs for a decade under TOF, until he got even more deluded and took us into the euro trash Cup (which we can't even win).

In someway that is my biggest disappointment this season, City were always likely to win the league, but our performance in the cups has been poor, I suppose we were unlucky to draw Etihad away, no excuse in Europe though.

We have to see what happens next season, we've gone from 8th, to 5th, to 2nd, so we have a high target for next season and need to do better in the cups.

Just hard to see when all our rivals seem to be getting sugar daddy owners. No doubt dippers and Spuds will be next and we'll be the ones left with yanks, apart from chavs.

Where are the copy and paste Twitter rumours. We’ve been deprived for too long. :cussing:

I want to hear about us linked to Jude Bellingham. I want it now! :banghead:

With a user name like that I’d say for sure you’re a hypocrite.

Nicolas Pepe is coming back from loan at the end of this season. Remember him, £72m worth of Vieraesque dynamism. Should be able to get 3 or 4 mil for him.
We spunked away so much money on absolute dross in the last decade it's impossible to remember them all.

Tbh mate so had I. I inadvertently stumbled across an article about him, out on loan at Nice apparently (that should toughen him up) 72m for a player, give him a few games, then loan him out in order for him to find his feet, then when he returns, sell him at a massive loss.

I'd love to know why anyone thinks we need to sign a winger

Probably the position we least need a player

If we don't get a proper right back, 2 CBs and 2 CMs, next season is dead before it begins

As for wingers - Martinelli, Saka, Trossard, Nelson, Pepe and he's even played Smith Rowe or Vieira there FFS. How many do we bloody need!!

Saka isn’t as good as he thinks he is. Mentally goes missing when it matters.

Maybe, but in fairness he has been carrying a load of supposed senior pros and was due a bad spell. Just don't think it's a priority position given all those options

Compare to RB, where we play a converted CB because our supposed first choice is either always injured or just pure shite! Or CB, where a 21 year old gets injured and they crumble like shit and we have Holding in! Or CM where inexplicably Clive and Shit for Brains Partey are first choices

A winger would be a luxury on top of sorting those positions out first

Pretty certain we are after a winger.

The fact we don't need one probably means you're right. Arteta won't rest until we've got about 8 of them and spend the next few years loaning most of them out !

We don't need Pepe, I can tell you that, or Viera for that matter 😉

You're right though, CB's, midfielders (defensive one's) and a van Persie, Henry type striker who will get you 20+ goals and win us the league. We always seem to fixate on wingers and small midfielders. You think we have wingers, and we do, but count the lightweight midfielders. And he added the unused Jorghino to the bunch.
