Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?

The question you need to ask yourself is whether the real Jamie Vardy is the one who in the 2014–15 season played 34 league games and scored just 5 times or if he's the one from last year that scored 24 goals in 36 appearances.

We've been crying out for a world class striker since JVP departed and it's a massive gamble on last season not being a one off for him.

I have a sneaky feeling that vardy will end up with the scum - he is away with the engerland squad at the mo and will doubtless have mongoliod kane, ali, rose and dier in his ear pushing him to sign for them  If they have vardy and kane up front next season it will be a strike force to strike fear into every defence and would almost be as good as citeeh and dare I say barca's ?

It's a fair question, but I'm not sure how many of those 34 league games in 2014/2015 he actually started - as far as I can recall he wasnt a regular starter under pearson, so if thats the case it begs the question as to whether the fault lies with pearson, or whether vardy's ability and/or attitude didnt merit the starters position

26 starts 8 substitution appearances make up that 34 Augie. I think he only ended up on the bench late on in the season after going 20 odd games without a goal. Nobody could have predicted what he did last season, my fear is nobody can possibly predict what he will do next season either!

So engerland have a strike force to put the fear of god into spain, germany, france , belguim , wales , we will see , seen to many feared strike partnerships come to a big fat zero

LMFAOOOOOO

Good one mate

In all seriousness though, the Vardy saga stinks of Wenger once again doing the bare minimum to finish in the top 4. As mentioned before, if he were serious he'd make a serious offer for a genuinely world class striker. With that said, who the fuck would sign for us apart from 16 year-old Pierre No-Mark from Ligue Trois? :banghead:

I seem to recall similar choices of words on here about Higuain, Benzema.. Hasn't it been obvious the last many years that all the done deals in the papers are loads of crap? And getting all wound up about the embarrassment of the club not being able to finalize or players not wanting to come is really pathetic too, journo bullshit 95% of it. Teen girl gossip and hysteria magazine shit straight up.

Vardy was a pragmatic target and if he isn't coming there are others out there. If Aubameyang is going to Citeeh Bony will drop even further down the pecking order and should be available at a reasonable price.

Others could be Janssen (who the Scum are allegedly after), Barbosa, Icardi.

I think Merson has valid point here about Vardy. He was brilliant (only one season so far mind) in the system they played last season. Wonder how he'd fit in our tippy tappy bullshit. Maybe we'd be better off and put our focus on better players.

England have a vastly over-rated keeper, an absolutely woeful defence and a midfield that they seem unable to maximise (and that has been the way as long as I have watched football) but they do have a goalscoring front 2 in vardy and mongoloid. Put that combination up front for Germany and they would be unbackable for the euro's

Silly season appears to have begun in earnest.

It's being reported that Eric Bailly has signed for Manure from Villareal for 30 MILLION!!

He signed for Villareal 18 months ago as Gabriel Paulista's (remember him?) replacement for 4.5 million.

He's a big, strong and fairly quick lad but often looks a liability in possession. I recognise I've only seem him on TV 4 or 5 times, but 30,000,000?
