Just saying that it's all about personal opinion and the mood you're in when you sit down to watch a film. I fully admit the Deer Hunter is a well-made, well acted film but I personally think it was too long, with a lot of the scenes overplayed for the sake of it. As for Skyfall, yeah it's by no means the best Bond ever, but in the cinema on the big screen it was a great escape for a couple of hours and some great nods to Bonds of the past.
Personal opinion, DB10, is what makes the world go round. It would be very boring otherwise! No need to get abusive.

I'm afraid he was abused by a James Bond lookalike a few years ago and has held a grudge against the franchise ever since.

DB10 used to work in the adult industry in Dublin. They made a few Bond films (You only cum twice, the man with the golden cock, the spy who buggered me, and Brown finger ). He played the role of the Japanese midget henchman, Oddjob, and was mainly used and abused by Bond in every scene.

Going to see the new Pegg/Frost 'The World's End' on Wednesday. Anyone seen it? Any good?

Thought the trailer looked pretty shit and just basically a re-write of their other two films but heard it had some decent reviews so gave it a watch. It wasn't bad actually and had quite a lot of funny moments, although imo it tailed off in the last 20-30 minutes and it seemed like they felt compelled to try and bring a grand conclusion to their 'trilogy' and it didn't really fit.

I'm lucky enough to be able to go to the cinema 150 yards away on a Wednesday for £2, which is amazing consideration how ridiculously expensive it is generally. Unfortunately though they only have 4 screens and in what can only be described as a complete travesty aren't screening the Alan Partridge film

Thanks. I've heard mixed reviews, but most of their stuff is pretty good. The Alan Partridge film is meant to be hilarious. Catch that one next week. Pity they're not showing it at your place.

Yes I saw this about a week ago, I quite liked it... I've seen all their films and whilst it's not as good as Shaun of the Dead, I reckon it's the best one since that film. Hot Fuzz wasn't bad but all their others have sucked! I'd give TWE 7.5/10!

Well, saw it last night and it was pretty good. Last half hour gets a bit OTT, but some real belly laughs and witty dialogue. Strong cast and loads of faces popping up in minor roles. All in all, worth a visit.

Saw the following yesterday.

Alpha Papa.... quite funny, I'll give this 8/10
The Conjuring... pretty scary 9/10

I enjoyed them both, watch them one after the other on my Cineworld Unlimited Card... I may nip out later and watch a couple more..

It's 15.90 a month, on a year's contract, once you've seen 2 films (a month) which I do easily, you're in pocket, you also get 10% of everything in their foyer (I don't get any of this unless my youngest goes), they also give you invites to private pre-screenings of future films... all in all a good deal imo. (their bar is also quite cheap, I had a pint yesterday and paid just over £3 for it!!)

Sounds like a decent deal Frank.

You can get a cheap pint in most places in Nottingham (although there are a few oddly expensive joints dotted around), particularly if you drink guests ales.

Cardiff is the same, although my village's pub is annoyingly expensive - particularly given that it's normally pretty empty and the quality of the lager in there is horrendous.

Saw 'Alan Partridge' last night. 8/10. Some absolutely hilarious moments. The hiding place in the Roadshow lorry scene is one of those moments. If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean!
