International football is in the shitter, the euros for the most part this summer was a complete bore fest. Worzel got to back to back finals not by being some kind of managerial genius but simply because the standard is absolute pony right now.

There was a time I would be buzzing for international football but now you couldn’t pay me to watch it. Peaked at euro 96 - been a crock of shit ever since.

Agree that it probably peaked then but it was still watchable for at least a good decade afterwards.
For me the rot set in when with expanded international tournaments it has become virtually impossible for the top countries not to qualify. Remember the 5-1 win v Germany? The Beckham free kick v. Greece? They were qualifying matches. It meant there was an international narrative through the year. Now the matches are basically meaningless from one tournament to the next.

I fear the Champions League group stage is going the same way this season.

Yeah I’d agree with that Rob. I suppose 96 was the peak and it was all down hill from there with a few memorable moments along the way. Fucking greed ate the arse out of the game - now it’s a bloated shit fest rammed full of meaningless games. It’s harder not to qualify these days.

As someone has already said to have pointless internationals so soon after the beginning of the new season is Absolutely fucking Stupid.

We the fans have been waiting for & looking forward to the return of the Season & Prem games. The new players have only just begun to get back to full fitness and start getting to grips with the new playing systems, whilst also getting to know their new team mates and who can do what etc and who they can or cannot trust when the pressure is on etc etc

ps: Fuck OFF Carsley youCUNT playing Saka and Rice for the full 90 minutes when the game is done & dusted Especially with those Dirty TalentlessCunts Smallbone & Coleman who kept hacking down Saka ...
