thought he was above it too. remember him saying how committed he was to Arsenal and it was pure bullshit. shame, no respect for him anymore.

juventus would've been fine. man city i wouldn't be too bothered about, he'd just become part of the machine, another 5* player to blend in with the rest of the FM with infinite money cheat super squad... but going to man utd is just painful. pefect buy for them, a completely different option up front to compliment rooney. we knew we were a 2nd tier club in the prem anyway, but it still hurts to have it rubbed in our faces.

To be fair, it wouldn't have ever have got to this point if it weren't for Wenger being so-trustworthy and not seeing the wood from the trees with the contract situation.nexum5me wrote:juventus would've been fine. man city i wouldn't be too bothered about, he'd just become part of the machine, another 5* player to blend in with the rest of the FM with infinite money cheat super squad... but going to man utd is just painful. pefect buy for them, a completely different option up front to compliment rooney. we knew we were a 2nd tier club in the prem anyway, but it still hurts to have it rubbed in our faces.
To be fair, I am past caring about this...
...However - £24 million for an injury prone striker in the last year of his contract is great business. Now we need to replace him...

This club relies on cash.
And it keeps in synch with the idea we've sold a big player every season.
Also I told you Cesc was a top bloke, Nasri and RVP sign for City and UTd.
An Arsenal player in his prime going to utd, sickening!

The bunch of mongs on the Red Cafe have changed their tune..

I'm past caring now, the continuing downward spiral of our once great club will continue whilst we have a senile arsehole as a manager and a do nothing (apart from line their long pockets) board.

Glad this whole saga is over now and even though I was against selling to a rival £24 Million is a lot to turn down.
Hopefully we will strengthen further before the window closes.

The decline continues unabated. Let’s hope Song follows him out the door.

Great player, injury prone, but let's not forget he dragged us to a CL place for the last 2 yrs.
Goodbye and goodluck. £24m for an injury prone 29 yr old in his last year is great business. And that's exactly what it is - business. We have just spent quite a lot on Giroud, Santi and Poldi so basically we've got 3 players for a net cost of £10m + RVP, who was going to walk away for free next year anyway.
We are where we are and in the context of what's been happening, it's not a bad result. I wonder what reception he will get at the Emirates though.

Of course I'm not happy to see such a class player sold to our rivals, BUT £24m is far more than he's worth. The club was there before he came and it was certainly there when he spent 7 years in and out of the treatment room, it'll be there when he's gone. Happy this saga appears to have run its course, allows us to focus on the beginning of the season.
Don't really think he'll work that brilliantly with Rooney. Two great players that will grab goals anywhere but each of them has a system which gets the best out of them.

I'd like to wish RVP a speedy return to the fitness levels we witnessed for seven years of the eight he spent with us.
