Whose City is it anyway?
I totally agree and sympathise with your frustrations because of course ye are 100% right in what you say but I honestly dont see a solution where you can win
If you start a name and shame campaign to list the boozers concerned wont it just give them free publicity to help them draw in more manc cockneys ??

Well without wishing to seem even older than I am
you could always come to my local British legion club who priorotize London clubs over scabby norverners. Our game was on the main big screen and anyone who wanted to watch the manc vermin vs the sweatties was banished to the other end of the bar to watch it on the tiny screen, even a couple of **** in there were watching our game rather than watch the other shite

Disgrace tbh
I am not sure that they have more fans but maybe its because London is so big but I reckon its because it was an all UK match. But there not even football fans there just twats and all they think is Ronaldo is a good player and they can"t even name manures 1st team. Not even fans *word censored*

Stupid comparison.Cus Geezer wrote:I suppose the next time Forest Green Rovers v Grays on Setanta clashes with a Champions League tie that'll be prioritized in pubs will it?rocky7 wrote:I can understand why an all british tie was prioritized to be fair.

Imagine you are a neutral pub land lord. Do you choose the game between the Priemiership and european champions and the scottish champions (hence a British derby of sorts), or Arsenal vs a team from Turkey, a game that has no real history or extra appeal?

There are more Arsenal fans in London than Man Utd fans.Calo wrote:

thats one of the things continuly winning things does for you
but i agree its very frustration cause people should be more local to the area they was born
800,000 of us turned out in 1989 for the League winning procession, and we have gained support since then.
I refuse to belive there are over 800,000 Man Utd fans in London.

yeah I suppose it was in a semi-comical way.rocky7 wrote:Stupid comparison.Cus Geezer wrote:I suppose the next time Forest Green Rovers v Grays on Setanta clashes with a Champions League tie that'll be prioritized in pubs will it?rocky7 wrote:I can understand why an all british tie was prioritized to be fair.

But the point is it's not just a knee jerk reaction to tuesday, this seems to happen all the sodding time - and the further point, would Arsenal v Celtic if we ever happened to be reigning European champions get priority over a United game in a pub in Salford? hardly.

Apologies, I was not in the best of moods and not with a totally clear mind either.yeah I suppose it was in a semi-comical way
True, though I think the difference is you can only compare pubs in Manchester to pubs in north London and not London in general. If Arsenal were the only successful team in London (for instance being a London United) then maybe you would expect the same bias throughout London, as you do in Manchester. If that makes any sense.and the further point, would Arsenal v Celtic if we ever happened to be reigning European champions get priority over a United game in a pub in Salford? hardly.
As a side note of interest I now live in Manchester and I don't ever have trouble finding somewhere to watch the Arsenal champions league games.
