Captain Fab - i do respect you - its just we dont agree - im not a prick although I do have one
Back to my reposnse
what about picking the ball up today wat a clown
ALL he can do is - Shot Stopping - great but not the only job for a goalie
to be a good goalie you need to
a) CoMAND of your area
b) Comminiucation
c) Know how to narrrow your angles
d) know when to come out and wehn not to
e) know when NOT to stand a mle away from your goal
f) have the right amount of players in the wall
g) organise your def around you
h) know when to caTCH - not just alweays puch the ball away
i) he has a weak throw out
do you want more ?

I take it you won't be wanting Fabianski ahead of Almunia then because on points a, b, d, e, g, h and i, he is fucking shit.Calo wrote:Captain Fabregas wrote:how about today then? made some good saves and was unlucky to get injured.Calo wrote:Captain Fabregas wrote:he has had 2 bad games get over it you prick.

If your point is more aimed at getting a really top grade GK then fine - but flapper Fabianski is not the answer
no worries Calo, I always worry with mooney in goal but he dd well todayCalo wrote:ok i'll add brave to the shot stoppingds wrote:Jeeze Calo, I am anti-almunia but you have to give credit where its due. He was very good in goal today, but fab came out to save like mooney never would have done
sorry for being a little harsh

Almunia is massively improved from the 2005 - 2006 season when I wondered why he was in the squad.
He is now a good shot stopper and brave.
His distribution has also improved.
His command of the area and organisation of the defence is not at the level it should be for an Arsenal keeper though.
Sadly his confidence got shot against Spurs but he showed today that he has pulled himself together.
In an ideal world I would like us to buy another keeper, but a central defensive midfielder and a central defender are greater priorities.

good post mate. I think Arsene is working on Almunia's command by making him 3rd choice captain (well thats what i guess he is Gallas/Toure/Almunia) when he was captain afew matches agoQuartzGooner wrote:Almunia is massively improved from the 2005 - 2006 season when I wondered why he was in the squad.

Almunia is a sub standard keeper end of. Even today when he got injured it came as a result of him coming for a cross, flapping at it and then having to dive at carrick's feet to try and redeem himself
Are we that desperate to see improvement in almunia that we are now putting on blinkers for his mistakes ?? I mean ffs how can any keeper, much less a professional keeper at a top club, make the stupid mistake of picking up a back pass ? I'm astounded
The fans of almunia that are on here are very quick to knock fabinski and point out his mistakes but the pole is in his early 20's and will without doubt improve where as almunia is 30 ffs and still aint at the required level to play at a club like ours
I would prefer to see wenger bring in a top keeper in jan like shay given and have fabinski as his understudy but otherwise promote the pole to number 1 keeper
