Official CL draw tomorrow

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I understand what youre saying Gus but this team could go out of the competition against any of the opponents we draw today so why not have a big night against Barcelona instead of a possible feeble one against smaller opposition and still have nothing to play for in Feb.

Yeah I understand that but we have more chance of going through if we get a lesser team!

If we come fifth this year we won't be saying "oooh what a great season as we had great days against Man Yoo home and Chelsea away"!

I want us to have the best possible chance, however unlikely, of us winning the thing! Drawing Barca does not give us that.

Really don't care who we get - I'm that disillusioned at the moment... :(

I wouldn't fancy Panathenaikos, just could see a repeat of the PSV tie. Would be happy with Juve. Would be a good tie and they're beatable (or certainly more beatable than Barca!)

I'm with Gus on this one. Panathinaikos now to give Bert a proper send off at the Grove and revenge on the Scousers in the quarters! :D :barscarf:

If we get to the semis any thing can happen.

I want barcelona. I'm on the all the airline sites this morning if we get them im booking a flight.

Personally i don't understand this whole attitude of getting weak opposition up to the final. Why not play the hardest teams on the way. Its like giving a boxer easy fights and then getting trounced when the first decent opponent comes along.

In truth we are unlikely to get anything this season the way that its going so far. So why not a have a good game against good opposition and hopefully enjoy some good football. and you never know.

Given the undoubted pressure that is going to come from barca in the summer as they look to lure our skipper away then there is no way in the world I would want to go out of the competition to them. The last thing we need now is yet another reminder to cesc about how far away we are from competing toe to toe with the likes of barca so if we are to get a good draw only to get knocked out then I would rather it be juve or roma.

I have to say though that I am, like DBGooner, sooo disilluisoned right now that I am not even confident that we would beat west brom much less europes elite so as long as our squad remains as weak as it is then I wont be getting excited no matter who we draw
