Whats Occuring

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

And anyone who offers five year contract at £75K per week to a player currently injured until March, with the same injury that put him out for six months last year - without confirming as far as possible that they injury will not keep recurring - has more cash than brains.

The onus, as I've pointed elsewhere, is on Walcott to prove his fitness. Not on us to shower him with money, we don't have.

The only reason Walcott attracts the attention he does is because he's English. Not his fault but a fact all the same.

For us he's scored one goal in the CC Final two years ago and run 50 yards at Anfield last season. All very commendable but nothing like enough to justify the hype.

He certainly could be a very good player. But so could a host of others who have disappeared to nothing - Jermain Pennant for example. I think Walcott is level headed enough not to follow their example but if he's injured for months at a time, every time someone tackles him and he falls over, then his future in Football ISNT.

We can't afford to have another Rosicky - indeed we can't afford the first one.

So Walcott has got a lot of 'proving' to do if/when he returns in March. After that - if we get that far - a new contract stamped "Big $" can be forthcoming.

As usual bang on the money rob 8)

I don't agree on that one!

Walcott is talented whether he is English, Irish, Danish or from the place that flew the UFO into that wind turbine!

Sure the English thing adds to the hype but he is talented regardless.

Maybe gus but he is avoiding the major criticism for his ongoing injury problems that rvp and diaby have been stuck with and considering that he was out for so long last season and is now out for 3 months again with the same injury does cast doubts on his future durability

True, but that has nothing to do with talent!

You could argue that his medical condition is also being blown out of proportion due to his nationality!

I really really rate Theo. The most exciting youngster to come through since fuck knows who. But he is too injury prone. Honestly, I'd give him next season and if this same injured half the time shit continues then offload him. No matter how good he is (and how much potential he has) he's fuck all use sitting at home every season with his PS3...

Their replacements are there already - Gibbs, Wilshere, Vela, Simpson and Ramsey all deserve to start ahead of the 'stars' you mentioned.

The danger is they could be replacing the like of RVP and Theo if the club deem they earn too much.
Quite probable, Wayno - sorry, Hugh... *cough*

Thats means we should have got rid of RVP already with his injury record and Rosicknote would have been taken out and shot.

Yep. I'd hate to see RVP go because he is quality when he's on form - he has that bit of magic about him, that bit of (dare I say it) Bergkamp voodoo...

But again, injured too often to make any real impact on our season...

And, er... who is this Rosicky you speak of? :? Have we signed someone??!!

Wenger made his regular three monthly statement about Rosicknote today and said he would be back in March 12 months after he was supposed to be back.
I said it before Rosicknote will NEVER play for Arsenal again

I honestly think my son Jack (3 and a half years old) will play for the Gunners before Rosicknote does again...

Look Rob we have waited for Van Persie to get fit and now it is taking time for him to find his top form in everygame.
Longer he plays the better his fitness will be.
Walcott still hasnt played enough games to show his form on a regular basis. His shoulder is a worry but at his age he should be tied down to a long term contract.
Losing these 2 players will be suicidal as far as im concerned. We dont have the talent in our squad to lose these 2 players.
Rosicky is finished as far as im concerned and is totally different to VP and Walcott.
Im really worried at how Arsenal are being run at the moment and that includes the way that players are allowed to leave.
Gallas could be gone next and we have no replacement. Whatever you think about Gallas we need him.
