Samuel Eto The Gooner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wake up, when fellow gooners are on about siging:

Forlan
Martins
Owen
Anelka

Not one of them are fit to lace henrys boots and owen s never fit anyway. Im just trying to put two and two together and the lack of funds for titi and eto's quotes, seem like they lead to summink.

Gunnerz4life who would you like to see and who do you think is most likely???

Rik
Who would i like to see? Well the entire Barca forward line would be nice and maybe we can add Kaka to that as well.

I really dont think theres any possibility with Etoo. He has made clear that he will leave on his own terms and i dont see Barcelona selling him, so theres no chance in hell he will be going anywhere else.

It depends on what you mean by filling Thierry's boot. If you want a talent who would replicate everything Henry did on the field (even the mood swings?) then i dont think there one exists. However i do feel if we get a couple of good strikers who would quietly bang in 15-20 goals in the league, that would be replacement enough and would put us in a pretty decent position.

I would be very satisfied with Anelka, Huntelaar and Babel or Anelka, Tevez and Babel. And its pretty realistic.

I always said Eto"o should have been included in the Henry deal.Did we even try?I dont believe Eto"o will be at Barca next season he doesn"t get along with Ronaldinho and he"s not going to play second fiddle to King Henry.

I really dont understand this Anelka thing. Does no-one remember what he was like? Le sulk.... Bad for team morale, in Francr Weekly(or whatever it is called) slagging us off, He never stays at a club for more than 2 seasons and his strike rate isnt that great either.... Im getting angry now :)

I would be surprised if Barca let him go banking on Henry, it would be pretty stupid. Etoo is a proven goal scorer in Spain and is probably playing the football of his life right now. As far as his problems with Ronaldinho goes, i dont think it has escalated so much that he would leave the club, specially now that his dear friend is there too. But id love to see ego clashes between the 3 next season :).

He was a petulant teenager when he left last time, we have all done stupid things we have regretted when we were young. I think he has matured a bit now although his constant clubhopping goes against him. At the end of the day huis petulance made him a football journeyman who could only watch on as Arsenal (thanks to him) paid for a new training ground, signed TH and went on to a host of trophies. Think we got the better deal big time! We are looking for a striker with pace, strength and ability and he ticks those boxes, whilst not my first choice there is no point in cutting our nose of to spite our face. If he can contribute to an uptown in fortunes then i'm willing to forgive and forget. All i care about is what is best for the club.

I dont think Reyes cost anywhere near £25 million. As for signing Sammy E if it was gonnna happen it would have been done with the Henry deal at the time. I read somewhere that we were offered him as part of the Henry deal but Wenger wanted the cash. If this is true or not I dont know but Im sure our well informed GOONER ED can help me out here!

Reyes was no where near that figure!

His lack of balls was his problem! He whinged like a child! However I think its daft to knock his ability!

His ability is great if conditions suit him, problem is with Bolton, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Portsmouth etc in this division with possibility of a bit of wind and rain thats alot of games where the talented Reyes won't turn up.
