New seats at Arsenal = more fans and income (18/6)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yes i'm an accountant & yes i suggested the idea.
The only thing i agreed with was the transport problem.
For those that like their seats, by changing some of the seats you would get a choice of large or small and pay accordingly. And in my humble opinion the seats shouldn't matter, we should be standing and singing.
For those that want to do that, small seats shouldn't be an issue. An extra 10000 fans wanting to do that would help create a hell of an atmosphere in the ground.
I go every week and the atmosphere can be great example - CC 2nd leg v Spurs was awesome. And why? The seats were cheap and many fans who ordinarily can't go because of the high prices could go. Loads of the old songs from the days of terracing at Highbury were being sung.

I was at that game an remember thinking that Emirates has not had that sort of atmosphere, it was trully a great night

One problem to do with increasing capacity is transport - it barely copes with 60,000 people

This was my first game at ashburton and at the time i thought all the stories of a poor atmosphere had been false that night was brilliant. But alas my second game vs blackburn was anything but and i was informed that this was more of the norm.

More seats would be great but a change of attitude would be better, at the moment with Kieth"man of the people" Edelman plans for stricter stewarding the sit n shut up systeme could see generations of young kids showin up to the emirates n seeing blackburn type atmospheres and when they experienced a real atmosphere they would probably jump ship because to be honest im not a deserter but i have enjoyed games abroad i went to dortmund vs shalke last year and ive never heard noise like that and such a spectacle from an outsider looking in i wished badly that it was the arsenal playing that day. I just hope that kids grow up and find an atmosphere they can be proud of, we need to do all we can to ensure the spirit of our club doesnt become diluted by money grabbing wankers.

I'd obs give it a good few years before we extend Emirates
The transport is shite as we know so that firsty needs done over
I heard this rumor a long time ago by a worker in the stadium but i asked Iain Cook bout it & he said as well with the transport system is terrible & Arsenal won't do it yet
I don't want to end up like Man Utd & extend & extend so that every time i go there i'm cramped (which i was last year even though i was lucky with a corner bit)
Arsenal isn't as unique as Highbury was obs but we need to start making it unique with sing songs etc
All i hear is We're the Clock End Highbury in the North Bank
