most influential this season Fabregas or Arshavin?

Arshavin without doubt, I was so excited when Wenger finally stumped up the money to buy him, an am proud as hell of having an Arshavin shirt

Clearly its Arshavin.

Because he is that much older than most of the rest of the team I hope that rather than be jealous of the adoration he'll get, they'll learn from him.

The penalty incident at Portsmouth for me shows what a special character he is. He's more than just a lad who can play a bit.

We may have had a chance if he was on the pitch last night.

The Owl has been the biggest influence. (9 assists and 6 goals in 13 games).

Always a threat and still finding his feet.

Just hope his form continues into the next season

Last night he might have made a difference, but our main problems were in defence.

Arshavin didn't.

Think of the potential difference AA might have made had he simply been on the pitch, and you have your answer.
Correct 8)

Instead of us useing one of our players as a stick to beat another, why do we not recognise the great gain AA will be to us for all of next season and beyond, just as Cesc will be. A couple more tried and tested players and we may not be as far away as the media claim we are :x

WE WONT MISS CESC IF HE LEFT!........WHY?
Because when he was out for that long-ish injury,Did we lose a game?
threw this idea at my mate last night after his shocking performance's since returning from injury!
Agreed.

Assuming we realise full-value for Cesc, let's say 40M for example, then we would be a considerably better side with that money invested in two top class players, one at centre-mid and one at centre-back.
I suspect that AW bought AA as a potential replacement for Cesc.
AA is itching to get into that central position, run the game and score goals.

Agree that Cesc has missed a reliable partner alongside him but not a good enough excuse for his poor effort this season.

that has got to be the most stupid thing ive read. the thought of wenger even being prepared to sell fabregas is stupid. if theres one player wengers been trying to desperately hold onto is fabregas. so no he didnt bring AA in to replace cesc, he brough him in to replace rosicky, he even said it himself ffs!

Arshavin is the only truly Word Class player we have. Cesc I wouldn't consider world class yet but still a great player. If he contributed more goals from outside like say a Scholes or Gerrard then yes, but we need someone that can grab us up from the scruff of the neck like AA.

I would like to start agian and build around AA.

The core of the team is the problem

Lehmann
Campbell
Vieira
Henry

has become...

Almunia
Gallas
Cesc
Adebayor

How stupid would that be? According to MM99 that would be like building the team around Rosicky !!!

Personally I agree. Because AA is clearly a very able replacement for Cesc, with all the right skills and attitude. All round a better player.

Thank you for your grown up feed back.

Cesc was out injured from December to April. Wouldn't you want to get cover in the January window?

Rosicky was out from the start of the season. Why wait until Jan to replace him?

If Cesc gets tempted to move do you think AW can stop him?

AA looks a better player then Cesc and wasted in the LM role. AA has also said he wants to play in the centre.

Over to you. But try and start your sentences with capital letters and don't be afraid to use apostrophes.

didnt they teach ya nuffink at skool?

Why does a team have to be built around one player? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

I don’t see why it would have to be Arshavin or Cesc rather than both anyway. Even if Shava plays centrally next season (and he should!) he & Cesc are not all that similar & don’t generally operate in the same areas of the pitch. Arshavin would effectively be the second striker, which as we’ve seen Cesc really isn’t cut out for. He’s far better off a bit deeper in his favoured CM role.

Whether we build the team around one or the other or both we’re still generally gonna need to bring in the same quality of player in the same positions - a ball-winning, dominant CM, Vidic’s evil twin brother at CB, a world-class keeper (if there’s one out there) & a top-class striker to replace C*ntbayor. Preferably one with genuine pace & clinical finishing. Might even need an extra winger in there if Rosicky gets put out to stud.

Cant quite see the logic in wanting to build a team around 1 quality player instead of two, or three... :?
