Toure Or Gallas
Wenger needs to decide on a centre back partnership and settle on it, preferably with a long term view. As much as I think he is our best defender, like others have said I can't see Gallas staying long term. Toure needs someone alongside him to sort him out, of Vermalen isn't that player then perhaps we should get rid of both, bring in someone else with Djourou first reserve.

Difficuilt one, i think to make a decision on this you would have to know what is going on in Gallas's head, if he is truely buckling down and wanting to give his all for however long he is at the club, then i would seriously think about extending his contract a couple of years and unloading Toure as well as Sylvestre and Senderos to finance a new big centre half which would then leave us with Gallas, Vermaelen, Djourou, New Guy + Song in an emergency and Nordtveit coming through.
The problem is if Gallas is still sulking inside and is just biding his time to f*ck off when it suits him, if he is we need to get rid of him now while we can get something for him and before we do let the likes of Toure go.

I think that any decision here has to factor in the abilities of our new signing - by all accounts he is 6ft ish so isnt going to be the big physical centre half that we need and neither gallas nor kolo can be that type of players so for that reason I would sell both. I love kolo as a Gooner but maybe it is time for him to move on and while I agree that gallas is the better defender I still cannot get past his behaviour since he joined us and cannot warm to him as an Arsenal man
Wouldn't dismiss his ability in the air cos of his height, Jagielka is no giant but no fool in that dept, I hear he is a bit of a hard case, so thats good, given our soft underbelly, and lets face it augie t'would take a poor signing not to improve on our current lot of cbs. So a dfm and a sriker and it's success all the wayaugie wrote:I think that any decision here has to factor in the abilities of our new signing - by all accounts he is 6ft ish so isnt going to be the big physical centre half that we need and neither gallas nor kolo can be that type of players so for that reason I would sell both. In fairness rigsby, gallas's commitment has always been to gallas and not any club. What he has shown since losing the captaincy has been that he is a very good defender but whether he has improved to put himself in the shop window or not we do not know and to say that he has proved his commitment to our club is stretching things a bit far really
10:41 Manchester City will reportedly make a £12million bid for Arsenal's Kolo Toure, now that The Gunners have finalised their deal for Ajax's Thomas Vermaelen.
