Ah well, looks like Ade isn't going to AC Milan.....

Milan's Lawyer Pessimistic About Deal For Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor

Goal.com

Milan lawyer and transfer consultant Leandro Cantamessa is not optimistic about signing Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal or Real Madrid's Huntelaar, but the club seems keen on Sevilla ace Luis Fabiano.

The search for a striker continues in Milan after the Edin Dzeko attempt failed. Earlier reports suggest Milan still wanted the Wolfsburg striker, but those links appear to be dead as Cantamessa hinted at Fabiano as first choice, and there was no mention of Dzeko.

"Is the deal for Luis Fabiano going well? It's possible, even though many hypothesised transfers don't always end up being concluded," Canatmessa told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

"I don't know about Huntelaar, while Adebayor is a name which does not make me enthusiastic. In any case Galliani is the one who deals with these things and you should ask him."

Andrea Pirlo has been in Chelsea's sights following Carlo Ancelotti's move there, but it seems the Italian will be staying at the San Siro.

"I would only sell Pirlo if I had the guarantee of finding a direct replacement as he is a very good player," concluded the lawyer.

Milan are in a position to play hardball with the fee due to him going backwards last season.

Wenger won't give him away so he will be here next season.

He better pull his socks up.

Emmanuel Adebayor turns his back on Milan to stay with Arsenal
Emmanuel Adebayor has ended a year of uncertainty over his future at Arsenal by committing himself to the club and ending speculation that he would leave the Emirates after three seasons in north London.

On Friday, manager Arsène Wenger placed the onus on Adebayor to state his intentions and clear the way for any potential suitors when the Arsenal manager said: "If he does not want to stay he will leave, but I think that he will be still at Arsenal this season."

While Chelsea and Barcelona were monitoring the player's situation, Milan and Internazionale were favourites to buy the 25-year-old having begun their courtship last summer when Adebayor first appeared on the verge of a move.

He chose to stay but, having scored only 16 goals for Arsenal last season, compared with 30 the previous term, the Togo striker appeared unsettled and has offered mixed messages during the last few months about where he would play next season.

Last week the Milan vice-president, Adriano Galliani, appeared to signal an impending bid from the Rossoneri when he said: "I've called Arsenal to inform them of our interest. I've spoken to Arsène Wenger and Adebayor was part of the conversation during which Wenger was friendly."

But when contacted by Observer Sport today and asked if Adebayor would like to leave the club, Stephane Courbis, the striker's agent, said: "No, no." When pressed if Adebayor definitely wanted to stay at Arsenal, Courbis was clear. "Yes. It's the same [situation] as last week," he said, referring to comments that it was up to Wenger to declare his position regarding Adebayor.

a few weeks ago I definitely wanted him sold but now I really don't care anymore.

If he puts in the work imo he is welcome to stay. Say what you will, he's a good player and he scores important goals. And we don't have to like him, as long as he's helping the team achieve.

If he has the same attitude as last season he can fuck off though.

it depends.

If he puts in the work and scores over 20 goals again in the league I'm pretty sure most of us would respect him. I think if he can turn around his Arsenal career it would deserve respect.

We'll see, it's a bit premature to even think about it. It's still very possible that we'll sell him, Wenger definitely seems to want to sell him.
